Adjusting the Spring Tension and Balancing the Door.
After installing the new springs and safety cables, close the door to check the tension and if it is properly balanced.
A slight movement up or down is acceptable. If the door opens by itself as soon as you let go of the handle,
there is too much tension in the spring system. If it closes fast and hits the floor hard, the springs are too loose.
Re-open the door and block it in place with clamps or locking pliers. Adjust the tension by moving the S hook
on the horizontal steel angle forward (toward the door opening) to increase tension, or backward to decrease tension.
You may need to adjust the cable length by sliding the holding plate on the steel cable in one direction or another You may need to adjust the cable length by sliding the holding plate on the steel cable in one direction or another
in order to get the required tension.
Note:
Please adjust both sides. The pulleys on both sides of the doors should be parallel to each other.
