The instructions below are for reference only. Depending on application, install may vary.
Always consult a professional.
1) The leaf that contains the knuckle ends should be attached to the frame, while
the leaf that contains the inner knuckle should be attached to the door (or shutter,
window, etc.).
2) Outline the leaf at its desired locations on the door. Mortise out the outlined
areas to equal thickness of the hinge leaf – approx. 1/8 in.
3) Mark the screw holes. Drill pilot holes for the screw holes and attach the leaves
to the door.
4) Bring the door up to the frame. Align the door within the frame at its desired
location, allowing for proper spacing (you may have to adjust/ modify the door).
It’s suggested to use shims. Mark the leaf locations on the frame.
5) Remove the door. Mortise the framing for the hinge leaves and then mark and
drill pilot holes for the screw holes.
6) With the hinges spread open, bring the door back to the frame. Secure the hinge
leaves to the frame, staring with the top hinge. Note: Keep the door supported
until all hinges have been attached to the frame.
