StealthPedal CS ™ 2.7 StealthPedal Power On Check StealthPedal is a USB Bus-Powered Device, and therefore needs no external power supply. StealthPedal has no Power switch, it powers up as soon as it is connected to the computer USB port. The red LED indicator on the side of your StealthPedal (figure 2.3) will light up during device power up and operating system boot. The green LED (figure 2.4) will light up when the initialization will be completed, to indicate that your SteathPedal is ready to use.
StealthPedal CS ™ 2.8 The StealthPedal System Structure This section explains how the StealthPedal system is structured and how its components interact with each other. The StealthPedal system consists of the following components: • StealthPedal USB Floor controller and audio interface. • Mac or PC host computer (see Installation and Authorization Manual for system requirements). • AmpliTube software installed on the Mac or PC computer. • StealthPedal MIDI Control application.
StealthPedal CS ™ 2.9 Windows Control Panel In order to open the Control Panel (figure 2.5), click on the “StealthPedal icon” located in the Windows tray, (please check the Windows taskbar, usually located at the bottom next to the clock). Control Panel description: ASIO Buffer Size: sets the StealthPedal’s input/output latency. The smaller the buffer size value is, the faster the response. IMPORTANT: too small a buffer size may introduce audio pop and click noises or CPU overload.
StealthPedal CS ™ 2.10 Mac Control Panel On the Mac you can conveniently control your StealthPedal from the “Sound” System Preferences. Open the “Audio MIDI Setup” (Applications > Utilities) and select the StealthPedal device to adjust the its audio settings and parameters (figure 2.6). figure 2.6 Control Panel description: Audio Input Volume: these sliders set the input gain for inputs 1 and 2 (L and R).

Open AmpliTube Audio MIDI setup window (figure 2.9) and select StealthPedal as your audio interface, and you’ll be ready to go. figure 2.
StealthPedal CS ™ change these settings in AmpliTube standalone, select: Settings > Audio MIDI setup. If you experience audio pops or clicks while playing, try increasing the buffer-size value to the next higher step. If your computer is very powerful and the 144 or 128 value is working perfectly, you may even try setting this value to 96 (Windows only) or 64 (Mac only) for an even faster response.
StealthPedal CS ™ Chapter 3 Typical StealthPedal Setups and Connections The following paragraphs explain how to connect StealthPedal in most common live or studio situations. figure 3.
StealthPedal CS ™ 3.1 Using StealthPedal in a Home Studio Outputs With StealthPedal you can set up a home studio with quality comparable to many pro-quality studio environments. When playing in a home studio with StealthPedal, one usually will plug the unit into a pair of studio speakers, commonly referred to as “Studio Monitors” (figure 3.2). For best results it is advisable (when possible) to connect StealthPedal to your Studio Monitors with balanced 1/4” TRS cables.
StealthPedal CS ™ Inputs Connect your instruments here (figure 3.3). When you need to connect only one mono instrument (guitar, bass etc..) use input #1 (L). For optimum signal quality, please use high-quality cables. These are balanced high quality Hi-Z inputs that automatically switch to unbalanced when a 1/4” unbalanced cord is plugged, perfect for low-level unbalanced signals (like the one from an electric guitar or a bass, passive or active).
StealthPedal CS ™ 3.2 Using StealthPedal On-stage Direct to The PA System Outputs With StealthPedal you can play on-stage without heavy amps and cabinets, feeding your processed mono or stereo signal directly to the PA system (figure 3.4). StealthPedal’s balanced outputs are capable of driving long cables without noise (if the inputs on the receiving side are balanced).
StealthPedal CS ™ Inputs Connect your instruments here (figure 3.5).
StealthPedal CS ™ 3.3 Using StealthPedal On-stage With One or More Guitar Cabinets Outputs With StealthPedal you can play live without amps and cabinets, but if you prefer using real guitar cabinets you can do that easily as well by using a mono (or stereo if you have two cabinets or a stereo one) power amp (figure 3.6). We recommend using a tube-based power amplifier designed specifically for guitar or bass as this will preserve the tone of AmpliTube better than solid-state power amplifiers.
StealthPedal CS ™ Inputs Connect your instruments here (figure 3.7).
StealthPedal CS ™ 3.4 Connecting External Expression Pedal and Double Footswitch To extend StealthPedal control capabilities you can connect an External Expression Pedal and an External Dual Footswitch (figure 3.8). figure 3.
StealthPedal CS ™ External Expression Pedal You can connect an external Expression Pedal to the Expression Pedal 1/4” TRS Jack (figure 3.9). figure 3.9 Note: You may use a third-party Expression Pedal or the one available for purchase from IK Multimedia, made specifically for use with your StealthPedal (figure 3.10). figure 3.10 Be sure to use a 1/4” TRS cable (or “stereo” jack) when connecting the Expression Pedal to StealthPedal.
StealthPedal CS ™ External Dual Footswitch You can connect an external Dual Footswitch to the Dual Footswitch 1/4” TRS Jack (figure 3.11). figure 3.11 Note: You may use a third-party Dual Footswitch or two Single Footswitches, or the one available for purchase from IK Multimedia, made specifically for use with your StealthPedal (figure 3.12). figure 3.12 If you use the IK Multimedia Dual Footswitch you will just need a single, 1/4” TRS (or “stereo” jack) to connect the Dual Footswitch to SteahPedal.
StealthPedal CS ™ jack on StealthPedal. When connecting IK Multimedia Double Footswitch with a 1/4” TRS cable only output #1 has to be used as both switches signal is carried by this jack. Output #2 will remain unconnected. A conveniently short 1/4” TRS cable is included in the box with the Dual Footswitch you can purchase from IK Multimedia. If you use a third-party Dual Footswitch or two separated Footswitches please follow the StealthPedal TRS Dual Footswitch wiring (figure 3.11). figure 3.
