QUICK-START GUIDE This Quick Start guide is written for the KA-6 Transmitter. If you have the PTF (Pair to Fly) version, your model comes complete with a pre-installed Hitec Red-enabled receiver. Simply pair (connect) with your existing 2.4GHz Hitec or Hitec Red-enabled transmitter using the pairing guide on last page of this Quick Start guide. A full instruction manual is available to download from www.ikonnik-rc.com 1 Identify the transmitter’s features and function switches.

Your KA-6 is equipped with functionality which automates the pairing procedure. Check the pairing operation of your KA-6 transmitter and receiver by following steps 4 – 8. 2 Remove the components from the box and ensure you have the following items: KA-6 transmitter KA-6 6 channel receiver 3 Remove the transmitter battery cover and insert four AA alkaline cells (not included). 4 Connect a fully charged 4.8 or 6V battery to the receiver’s ‘B’ socket via a regular switch harness.

QUICK-START GUIDE 6 Power the receiver ON noting that the LED will initially flash red / blue, then change to fast flashing red. For initial pairing the receiver must be powered on within 5 seconds of the transmitter. Once paired this time constraint is no longer necessary. LED 7 Pairing will be complete when the receiver’s fast-flashing red LED turns solid red.

11 Press and hold the fail safe (F/S) button on the receiver. The LED will extinguish, then flash. When the LED lights solid red, turn the receiver’s power OFF and then ON. The fail safe is now set. You can test the fail safe function by turning OFF the transmitter and checking that the throttle and flying surfaces move to their pre-set positions. 12 Your KA-6 comes with servo reversing functionality on all four primary controls – aileron, elevator, throttle and rudder.

QUICK-START GUIDE 16 To fine-tune the four primary controls the KA-6 features digital trim buttons, located adjacent to the main stick gimbals. For clarity, trim center is indicated by an audibly longer beep tone. Digital Trim 16 In use the optimum operating range of the transmitter is achieved with the aerial in the upright forward-facing position.
