Handling the remote controller • • • • Use the remote controller within a distance of 26 feet (8 meters) from the air conditioner, pointing it towards the receiver (located on the front of the unit, towards the top). Proper reception is confirmed with a beep. CAUTION The air conditioner will not accept commands from the remote if any curtains, doors or other materials or objects block the signals from the remote controller. Be sure to prevent any liquid from falling into the controller.
Note: All illustrations in this manual are for explanatory purposes only. Your remote controller may be slightly different. Function Buttons TEMP DOWN Button Push this button to decrease the temperature setting in 2°F (1°C) increments to 62°F (17°C). TEMP UP Button Push this button to increase the temperature setting in 2°F (1°C) increments to 88°F (30°C). MODE Button Each time the button is pressed, the operating mode is selected in the following sequence: AUTO -> COOL -> DRY -> FAN -> AUTO.
Function Buttons (Continued) LLOCK Button Press this recessed button (using the tip of a pen or a paperclip) to lock all current settings and the remote controller will not accept any instructions until LOCK is pressed again. This is used to prevent accidental setting changes from the remote. (A key symbol will show in the display when this is activated.) MLED Display button This will toggle the LED display on the actual air conditioning unit. Press to turn it off and once again to turn it back on.
Functions Explained in Detail Auto operation 1. Press the MODE button to select AUTO. 2. Press the TEMP buttons (UP or DOWN) to set the desired temperature. The temperature can be set within a range of 62°F - 88°F (17°C - 30°C) in 2°F (1°C) increments. 3. Press the ON/OFF button to start the air conditioner. Notes: 1.
Timer operation Use the TIMER ON and TIMER OFF buttons to program a delayed start and/or stop. To set the Auto-on time 1. Press the TIMER ON button. The remote controller shows TIMER ON and the letter “h” will be shown on the LCD. Now you are reading to set the auto-on time. 2. Press the TIMER ON button again to set the desired auto-on time. Each time you press the button the time increases in 30 increments for up to 10 hours.
Timer operation (continued) TIMER OFF The TIMER OFF feature could be useful, for example, if you wanted the unit to go off completely, let’s say two hours from now, after you will be asleep. 1. Press the TIMER OFF button. 2. Press the TIMER OFF button repeatedly until you see 2.0 in the display window along with the “h” and TIMER OFF. 3. Wait two seconds and the display will show the temperature again. The function is now activated and the machine will turn on exactly two hours hence.
