ItemTest Add a Data Source Screen
3. On the Add a data source page, in Hostname eld, type the reader’s hostname or IP address.
Note: You can nd out the name and the IP address by using the RShell show network summary
command. The show network summary command provides the dynamic values that are returned
by DHCP or LLA if the current conguration is dynamic. The local hostname resolution feature
(mDNS) gives the reader a local hostnam in addition to an IP address as its network identity. On
an isolated network that lacks DNS service but that has mDNS enabled, a reader with hostname
impinj-1d-00-dd, for example, can be reached using impinj-1d-00-dd.local.
4. Optionally, enter a nickname for this reader (can be shorter and/or more memorable than the reader
hostname or address).
5. In the Data Source Type eld, select ”Octane SDK”.
6. Click the ADD DATA SOURCE button, and the Inventory Start Screen is shown.
