Installation Checklist

1 of 3
To properly install the 3000 Micro GC, please consider the following items before the
3000 Micro GC installation service is delivered.
Carrier Gas
. . . .Recommend carrier gas (e.g., Helium, Argon) purity of 99.9995%, minimum
99.995% if appropriate carrier gas trap is installed. Consult with INFICON for
your specific instrument requirements.
NOTE: A 2 channel 3000 Micro GC tank will last at least one year, application
dependent.
. . . .Dual Stage Regulator (CGA 580) for each carrier gas(s). Must be capable of
delivering 80-82 PSI to the 3000 Micro GC. Regulator outlet fitting must be
adapted to Swagelok
®
in order to connect tubing. Use 1/8" fittings or 1/8"
adapters.
. . . .Carrier Gas moisture/hydrocarbon filter (INFICON Part Number G2870A-01).
These are recommended for use with Molecular Sieve and Alumina Modules.
Tubing and Fittings
. . . .Copper or stainless steel (pre-cleaned) 1/8" OD for carrier gas connections
between tank regulator and 3000 Micro GC. 3000 Micro GC has a 1/8" Swagelok
male carrier gas connection.
NOTE: Pre-cleaned "GC" grade copper tubing in 50 ft. lengths is included in
INFICON 3000 Micro GC install kit G2860A or can be purchased from
various chromatography vendors.
NOTE: We do not recommend cleaning tubing with a solvent prior to use.
NOTE: Do not use Teflon
®
or Tygon
®
tubing for the carrier gas.
NOTE: Collection of male/female Swagelok fittings for regulator, tubing, etc.
This includes nuts, front and back ferrules. Typical size is 1/8". Some
1/4" - 1/8" adapters may be needed if 1/4" tubing is used.
Calibration Gas
. . . .It is recommended that the user purchase an ample supply of calibration gas that
is specific to the analysis needs from a commercial gas vendor.
NOTE: Please consider delivery time when purchasing a calibration gas so that
it can be available at the time of installation.
