WARNING
O Be sure the parking brake is fully re-
leased before driving. Failure to do so
can cause brake failure and lead to an
accident.
O Do not release the parking brake from
outside the vehicle.
O Do not use the gear shift in place of the
parking brake. When parking, be sure
the parking brake is fully engaged.
O Do not leave children unattended in a ve-
hicle. They could release the parking
brake and cause an accident.
The Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
system warns the driver when the vehicle
is traveling close to either the left or the
right of a traveling lane with detectable
lane markers. It operates at approxi-
mately 45 MPH (72 km/h) and above. The
system monitors lane markers of the trav-
eling lane using the camera unit

cated inside the map light cover.
When the camera unit detects that the ve-
hicle is traveling close to either the left or
the right of the traveling lane, the LDW in-
dicator

on the instrument panel
flashes and a chime sounds to alert the
driver.
The LDW system can be turned on or off
by pushing the LDW switch

system is on, the LDW system ON indi-
cator
