Instructions for Taurus/Sable Wagon applications
Installation location:Lower rear control arms on the inboard end.
Installation note: One cam bolt per side.
1. Raise and support vehicle. Support lower control arm to be
adjusted.
2. Remove control arm-to-chassis mounting bolt and nut.
3. Lower the control arm enough to clear the bolt hole, prying on
the mount may be neccessary.
NOTE: Lower the control arm from the mount may cause the
spring to become lose.
4. Using a die grinder, elongate bracket hole 3/4" on each side
of hole center.
5. Install lower control arm into bracket.
6. Install new cam bolt, cam washer, lock washer and nut.
7. Snug down nut. Do not torque at this time.
8. Lower vehicle onto alignment rack. Jounce vehicle to settle
the suspension.
9. Rotate cam bolt until desired camber change is achieved.
10. Torque nut 40 to 55 FT/LBS.
11. Set toe using toe adjuster located on outboard end of lower
control arm.
12. Document alignment readings.
Alignment note: If you have computerized alignment equipment,
use the raise wheel option. This option simplifies
the adjustment and saves time.
