5.Listening Mode Preset
You can preset your favorite listening mode to each input. (For example, you can always
apply straight decode to the Dolby TrueHD source of Blu-ray Disc to play it in unchanged
sound field.)
When the list of input sources is displayed, set the signal type and listening mode.
Although it is possible to select the listening mode during playback, the selected mode will
be reset when the unit enters standby mode.

Full Mono Set the listening mode for playing Dolby Digital
and other digital signals recorded in monaural or
multiplex audio.
2ch Source Dolby
Surround
Set the listening mode for playing Dolby Digital
and other digital signals recorded in 2 channels.
Dolby D/Dolby
D Plus/TrueHD
Dolby
Surround
Set the listening mode for playing Dolby Digital,
Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby TrueHD signals.
DTS/DTS-ES/DTS-
HD
Straight Decode Set the listening mode for playing digital audio
signals in DTS and DTS-HD High Resolution
formats. Select the listening mode specified for
Blu-ray or such other DTS-HD Master Audio
source.
Other Multich Source Dolby
Surround
Set the listening mode for playing DSD signals
of DVD-Audio and Super Audio CD that are
input from HDMI IN jack.
r Available listening modes vary depending on the input signal.
r Setting "Last Valid" will always select the last selected mode.
r Only "Analog" can be set to the "TUNER" input.
r "Digital" and "TrueHD" can be set to the "NET" and "USB" inputs.

Volume Setup
Make the detailed volume setting of the unit.
Setting Item Default Value Setting Details
Volume Display Absolute Switch the volume display between the
absolute value and relative value. The absolute
value 82 is equivalent to the relative value 0dB.
"Absolute": Absolute value such as "1" to "99"
"Relative(THX)": Relative value such as "-81dB"
and "+18dB"
r If the absolute value is set to 82, "82Ref"
will appear on the display and the "THX"
indicator will flash.
Muting Level -ŬdB Set the volume lowered from the listening
volume when muting is on.
Select a value from "-ŬdB", "-50dB" to "-10dB".
(in 10dB increments)
Maximum Volume Off Set the maximum value to avoid too high
volume. Select a value from "Off", "50" to "99".
Power On Volume Last Set the volume level of when the power is
turned on. Select a value from "Last" (Volume
level before entering standby mode), "Min", "1"
to "99" and "Max".
r You cannot set a higher value than that of
"Maximum Volume".
Headphone Level 0dB Adjust the volume level difference between
speakers and headphones. Select a value
between "-12dB" to "+12dB".
