Connecting the Speaker Cables
The following illustration shows which speaker should be connected to each pair of terminals.
■ 7.2-channel playback
Connect your Power amplifier’s analog audio input jacks to the AV receiver’s SURROUND BACK L/R PRE OUT
jacks with audio cables.
If you’re using only one surround back speaker, connect it to the SURROUND BACK L PRE OUT terminals.
Tip
• You can specify whether surround back speakers are connected in the “Speaker Configuration” menu (➔ page 41) or during
Audyssey 2EQ
®
Room Correction and Speaker Setup (➔ page 29).
■ Screw-type speaker terminals
Strip 1/2" to 5/8" (12 to 15 mm) of insulation from
the ends of the speaker cables, and twist the bare
wires tightly, as shown.
■ Banana Plugs (North American models)
• If you are using banana plugs, tighten the speaker terminal before inserting the banana plug.
• Do not insert the speaker code directly into the center hole of the speaker terminal.
