Safety and Regulatory Information
This section provides detailed safety and regulatory
information for this component, including:
Safety Compliance Statement
This product complies with the safety requirements
for Information Technology Equipment and is
Listed by Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. to UL
60950 for the U.S.
Lithium Battery Caution Statement
CAUTION:
Risk of explosion if the battery is replaced with an
incorrect type. Batteries should be recycled where
possible. Disposal of used batteries must be in

Safety Notices, Radio frequency
This component, like other radio devices, emits
radio frequency electromagnetic energy. The level
of energy emitted by this device, however, is less
than the electromagnetic energy emitted by other
wireless devices such as mobile phones.
The FCC, Industry Canada, and other international
regulatory agencies have adopted safety standards
and recommendations for human exposure to radio
frequency (RF) electromagnetic energy emitted by
wireless equipment. This component complies with
the RF radiation exposure limits found in FCC OET
Bulletin 65, 2001, and ANSI/IEEE C95.1, 1992.
These standards and recommendations reflect the
consensus of the scientific community and result
from deliberations of panels and committees of sci-
entists who continually review and interpret the
extensive research literature. Proper operation of the
equipment according to the instructions found in
this manual and noted below will result in exposure
substantially below the recommended limits.
Notice: I
nstall or position this component so that
the antenna (located behind the equipment front
panel) is at least 8 inches (20 cm.) from the user or
other persons. Failure to locate the equipment at this
minimum distance may result in exceeding the FCC
limits for human exposure to RF (radio frequency)
energy.
In some situations or environments, the use of the
wireless device may be restricted by the proprietor
of the building or responsible representatives of any
applicable organization or authority. If you are
uncertain of the policy that applies to the use of
wireless devices in specific organizations or envi-
ronments, you are encouraged to request authoriza-
tion to use this component prior to any wireless data
transmitting.
