Troubleshooting
If you have any trouble using the NVS-7.7, look
for a solution in this section.
Note that the trouble may be due to another of
your components, so refer to your other instruc-
tion manuals as well while troubleshooting.
Can’t turn on the NVS-7.7
Make sure that the power cord is plugged into
the wall outlet properly.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet,
wait 5 seconds or more, then plug it in again.
There is no sound or it’s very quiet
Make sure that all audio connecting plugs are
pushed in all the way.
Make sure the volume isn’t turned down all
the way.
If the Mute indicator is shown on the display,
press the remote controller’s [MUTE] button
to unmute the NVS-7.7.
When the S/PDIF settings in Media Center
and PowerDVD are both on, nothing is output
by the analog outputs when a Dolby Digital or
DTS soundtrack is played (page 38).
There is no digital output
On the
SigmaTel Audio
control panel >
Advanced
tab, make sure
Enable Digital
Output
is selected. If it’s not selected, digital
audio will not be output (page 43).
Check if your AV receiver or TV supports
Dolby Digital and DTS. If it doesn’t, in Media
Center >
Settings
>
DVD
>
Audio
, set
Use
SPDIF
to
Off
. And, in PowerDVD >
Config-
uration
>
Audio
, deselect
Enable S/PDIF
(page 38).
•With some DVD-Audio discs, digital audio is
not output.
Analog multichannel audio doesn’t play-
back correctly
On the
SigmaTel Audio

tab, make sure the
Speaker
Configuration
setting matches your speakers
(7.1 Speakers or 5.1 Speakers) (page 39).

The following table shows which output to use and how to set the S/PDIF digital output settings based
on your application. The
