7. Remove the processor socket protective cover: Grasp the socket protective cover by the two tabs and
carefully lift it straight up as shown in Figure 30.
8. Save the protective cover.

CAUTION
To avoid damage, DO NOT drop the cover onto the socket wires or components.
9. Take the processor out of the box and remove the protective shipping cover as shown in Figure 31.

10. Orient the processor with the socket so the processor cutouts match the two socket pins and then sit the
processor into the socket as shown in Figure 32.
