Overview
The 517EPS1 External Rack Power Supply is designed to supply
power to two 517R1 Card Cage Racks. It may also be configured to
provide redundant power to a single rack. The unit has two opera-
tinig channels with a maximum output of 9.0 amps per channel at
13.5 VDC. The 571EPS1 accepts 115/230 VAC, 60/50 Hz inputs.
Alarm Features
A fiber-fail alarm is built into the 517EPS1 power supply and is func-
tional when a card cage rack is populated with receiver cards. The
alarm activates when the optical signal input to any receiver card
mounted in the rack is lost. The alarm activates a buzzer built into
the unit, illuminates a front panel indicator, and relay contacts with
connections on the back panel. The relay output can be connected
to a remote device such as a lamp or buzzer, relay contacts are
normally open, (NO) dry contacts.
Front Panel Controls and Indicators
The 571EPS1 front panel contains DC power and Alarm LED indica-
tors as well as a MUTE switch. The MUTE switch is used to disable
the fiber-fail alarm.
Accessories
The 517EPS1 is supplied with two wiring harnesses that connect to
the card cage racks.
