TruVision NVR 21(S/P) User Manual 93
In order to have the failover functionality working properly, the following points must be
taken into account:
• A stable network connection is required
• There must be at least 10 Mbps of unallocated bandwidth available with the main
recorder. The main and failover recorders must have equal camera counts
• Ideally the failover recorder must have equal storage capacity to the main recorder
to accommodate for long outage times of the main recorder.
To set up a hot spare recorder:
1. From the menu toolbar, click Video Schedule > Hot Spare.
2. First set up the master recorders.
For each master recorder, check the Normal Mode box and Enable. Enter the IP
address and password for each recorder.
3. Set up the hot spare recorder.
Check the Hot Spare Mode box. Click Add to the recorder that will be the hot spare
unit.
Note: Once the hot spare is enabled, it must be added to the server in order for it to
become available.
