The 2420 is a full-featured terminal suited
to inventory control, asset management,
item tracking, maintenance management
and other off-line data collection
applications. Built to last, it will survive
the repeated drops and rough environ-
mental conditions found in manufactur-
ing, distribution, health care and other
demanding uses.
Applications can be developed using
industry standard language tools; no
proprietary languages to learn and
support. The task is even quicker with
EZBuilder
™
, a rapid application develop-
ment and prototyping tool that requires
no programming language expertise at
all. Fast data communications to a PC or
host are supported either through a
portable serial adapter or a desktop
communications dock.
With its Lithium Ion main batteries -
normally found in more expensive
computers and laptop PCs—data can be
collected for a normal shift or longer
without a battery change. Recharge them
gradually while the terminal is in the
communications dock or quickly in a
convenient multi-pack charger. Data will
be saved for days in the event the main
battery is temporarily or accidentally
removed. An internal modem option
provides remote dial-up access at speeds
up to 33.6 Kbps.
Standard memory and non-volatile
storage will satisfy most application
requirements. For larger files or portable
data bases, add 2 or 4MB memory
expansion options. Easily transform the
2420 to a wireless terminal. Integrated
scanners are replaceable modules for
easier maintenance.

family of fully compatible hand-held,
vehicle mount and stationary shop floor
terminals.
