Message:The power-on password or supervisor password prompt
Solution:If the power-on password prompt appears when you turn on your
computer, a power-on password is set. If the supervisor password prompt
appears when you press F1 to access the IBM BIOS Setup Utility, the
supervisor password is set. Type the correct password and press Enter to use
the computer (see the onboard help, Access ThinkPad).
Attention: If you still have a problem, have the computer serviced.If you
forget your supervisor password, IBM will not reset it. You must take the
computer to an IBM reseller or a marketing representative to replace the
system board. Proof of purchase is required, and a fee will be charged for
service.
Message:The hard disk password prompt
Solution:If the hard disk password prompt appears, a hard disk password is
set.
Type the correct password and press Enter to use the computer (see the
onboard help, Access ThinkPad).
Attention: If you forget your hard disk password, you can no longer access
the hard disk. The password cannot be reset and you will lose all data and
files on the hard disk. To use the computer, you will need to replace the hard
disk. This replacement will incur expenses for parts and labor.
If you still have a problem, have the computer serviced.
Message:The DOS full-screen looks smaller.
