Description

Introduction

This document describes the integration of BACnet MSTP and BACnet IP installations into KNX TP-1 home

automation systems using the Intesis KNX – BACnet Client gateway.

The aim of this integration is to make accessible BACnet system signals and resources from a KNX home automation

system, as if it was a part of the own KNX installation and vice-versa.

From BACnet point of view, Intesis acts as a BACnet client device, able to subscribe (COV), or perform periodic

polling and writes on configured BACnet objects. BACnet points’ values are available through its KNX interface,

acting in the KNX system as one more KNX device in it.

Configuration is carried out using the configuration software Intesis

MAPS.

This document assumes that the user is familiar with KNX and BACnet technologies and their technical terms.
