The information in this manual pertains to wheelchairs without powered seating
systems only. Refer to the powered seating system service manual for specific
information about servicing those systems.
Repair or Service Information
Exceptforprogramming,DONOTserviceoradjustthewheelchairwhileoccupied,
unlessotherwisenoted.
Beforeperforminganymaintenance,adjustmentsorservice,ALWAYSturnthe
wheelchairpowerOff,otherwiseinjuryordamagemayresult.
TRA NSPORTREADYPACKAGESARENOTRETROFITTABLETOEXISTING
MODELSANDARENOTFIELDSERVICEABLE.
Wheelchairsshouldbeexaminedduringmaintenanceforsignsofcorrosion(water
exposure,incontinence,etc.).Electricalcomponentsdamagedbycorrosionshouldbe
replacedIMMEDIATELY.
Wheelchairsthatareusedbyincontinentusersand/orarefrequentlyexposedtowater
mayrequirereplacementofelectricalcomponentsmorefrequently.
DONOTovertightenhardwareattachingtotheframe.Thiscouldcausedamagetothe
frametubing.
Operation Information
Performanceadjustmentsshouldonlybemadebyprofessionalsofthehealthcarefieldor
personsfullyconversantwiththisprocessandthedriverʹscapabilities.Incorrectsettings
couldcauseinjurytothedriver,bystanders,damagetothewheelchairandto
surroundingproperty.
Afterthewheelchairhasbeenset‐up/adjusted,checktomakesurethatthewheelchair
performstothespecificationsenteredduringtheset‐upprocedure.Ifthewheelchairdoes
notperformtospecifications,turnthewheelchairoffIMMEDIATELYandre‐enterset‐up
specifications.Repeatthissectionuntilthewheelchairperformstospecifications.
Avoidstoringorusingthewheelchairnearopenflame
orcombustibleproducts.Serious
injuryordamagetopropertymayresult.
DONOTattempttoliftthewheelchairbyanyremovable(detachable)parts.Liftingby
meansofanyremovable(detachable)partsofawheelchairmayresultininjurytotheuser
ordamagetothewheelchair.
