SECTION 1—GENERAL GUIDELINES SECTION 1—GENERAL GUIDELINES WARNING SECTION 1 - GENERAL GUIDELINES contains important information for the safe operation and use of this product. WARNING DO NOT move a person suspended in a sling any distance. The Invacare patient lift or the sling are NOT transport devices. They are intended to transfer an individual from one resting surface to another (such as a bed to a wheelchair). Otherwise, injury or damage may occur.
SECTION 1—GENERAL GUIDELINES Transport/Transfer Slings ‐ Before lifting the patient, make sure the bottom edge of the transfer sling is at the base of the spine and the patientʹs arms are outside the transfer sling. DO NOT raise the patient to a full standing position while using the transfer sling, otherwise injury may occur. The Jasmine Patient Lift can be used with the standard swivel bar or an optional cradle attachment.
SECTION 2—SLING STYLES SECTION 2—SLING STYLES Standard Series Style Slings and Kits Invacareʹs standard series slings are designed specifically for use with the 9805/9805P lifts. SECTION 3—USING THE STANDARD STYLE SLING SECTION 3—USING THE STANDARD STYLE SLING Introduction The hardware used with the standard sling includes four metal support bars. The support bars insert into the pockets at the edge of the fabric. The pocket that holds the metal bar has an opening in the center. The pocket is sewn closed on one end and has an open‐end with a strap on the other.

SECTION 3—USING THE STANDARD STYLE SLING Attaching the Chains or Straps to the Standard Style Sling NOTE: For this procedure, refer to FIGURE 3.3. NOTE: Each sling will work with either a pair of chain assemblies or a pair of strap assemblies. SECTION 3—USING THE STANDARD STYLE SLING Attaching the Standard Style Sling to the Patient Lift NOTE: For this procedure, refer to FIGURE 3.4. 1. The D‐ring (strap) or O‐ring (chain) is the suggested location to attach the swivel bar, however, by changing to different links or adjusting the strap, you can reposition the patient into a reclining or more upright position. WARNING When changing to different lengths, DO NOT disconnect the O-rings of the chains from the swivel bar.
SECTION 4—USING FULL BODY, COMFORT AND HEAVY-DUTY ONE-PIECE STYLE SLINGS SECTION 4—USING FULL BODY, COMFORT AND HEAVY-DUTY ONE-PIECE STYLE SLINGS Positioning the Sling NOTE: For this procedure, refer to FIGURE 4.1 and FIGURE 4.2 on page 13. NOTE: Use the following method to easily move the patient and avoid strain to yourself. 1. Position the patient in the center of the bed and laying flat on his/her back. 2. Fold the sling in half (length‐wise) and place the sling beside the patient. Refer to Detail “A”.
SECTION 4—USING FULL BODY, COMFORT AND HEAVY-DUTY ONE-PIECE STYLE SLINGS 5. With the patient on their side, push the fabrics of the seat and back gently under them. Refer to Detail “B”. DETAIL “A” DETAIL “B” FIGURE 4.2 Rolling Patient Onto His/Her Side NOTE: The patient’s head should be positioned in the headrest just below the top edge for maximum comfort and the lower edge of the seat section positioned a few inches above the back of the patient’s knees. 6. Place the straps of the sling over hooks of the swivel bar. Match the corresponding colors on each side of the sling for an even lift of the patient. CAUTION When connecting sling to the patient lift, the shortest of the straps MUST be at the back of patient for support.
SECTION 5—USING DIVIDED LEG, UNIVERSAL HIGH, EASY-FIT, TOILETING, DRESS TOILETING HIGH AND CRADLE ONE-PIECE STYLE SLINGS SECTION 5—USING DIVIDED LEG, UNIVERSAL HIGH, EASY-FIT, TOILETING, DRESS TOILETING HIGH AND CRADLE ONE-PIECE STYLE SLINGS Introduction Divided Leg, Universal High, Easy Fit, Toileting, Dress Toileting High and Cradle Sling styles may be used for patients on which sling removal is more difficult. Support ranges from upper back to beneath the thighs.
SECTION 5—USING DIVIDED LEG, UNIVERSAL HIGH, EASY-FIT, TOILETING, DRESS TOILETING HIGH AND CRADLE ONE-PIECE STYLE SLINGS 2. With the patient sitting in a wheelchair one assistant in front of the wheelchair and the other assistant in the back of the wheelchair, lean the patient forward. Refer to Detail “A”. DO NOT use the standing sling in combination with the stand up lift as a transport device.

Make sure of the following: • The sling is wrapped around the outside of each lift arm. • The closest color coded strap to the patient is used to maintain stability and comfort. • The colored coded strap sits flush against the attachment knob. • The same top color coded strap is used on each side of the sling. • The same attachment point is used on each lift arm.

NOTAS NOTAS En este manual se utilizan términos de advertencia y éstos se aplican a peligros o prácticas inseguras que podrían ocasionar lesiones personales o daños a la propiedad. Consulte la siguiente tabla para conocer las definiciones de los términos de advertencia. TÉRMINO DE ADVERTENCIA PELIGRO SIGNIFICADO Peligro indica una situación de riesgo inminente, el cual, si no se evita, podría ocasionar lesiones graves o incluso la muerte.
SECTION 1—RECOMMANDATIONS GÉNÉRALES SECTION 1—RECOMMANDATIONS GÉNÉRALES ADVERTENCIA LA SECCIÓN 1- PAUTAS GENERALES contiene información esencial para el correcto uso y funcionamiento del producto. ADVERTENCIA NO mueva a una persona suspendida en un cabestrillo por ningún motivo. El elevador de pacientes o el cabestrillo de Invacare NO se usan para transportar dispositivos. Están diseñados para transferir a una persona de una superficie de descanso a otra (como de una cama a una silla de ruedas).
SECTION 1—RECOMMANDATIONS GÉNÉRALES Cabestrillos para ponerse de pie‐ las personas que usan el cabestrillo para ponerse de pie DEBEN ser capaces de soportar la mayor parte de su propio peso, de lo contrario se pueden producir lesiones personales. Antes de elevar al paciente, asegúrese de que el borde inferior del cabestrillo para ponerse de pie esté colocado sobre la parte baja de la espalda del paciente y que los brazos del paciente estén fuera del cabestrillo.

SECTION 3—USAR LA HONDA ESTÁNDAR DEL ESTILO SECTION 3—USAR LA HONDA ESTÁNDAR DEL ESTILO Introducción El conjunto de componentes que se utiliza con el cabestrillo estándar incluye cuatro barras metálicas de soporte. Las barras de soporte se insertan en los bolsillos del borde de la tela. El bolsillo que sostiene la barra metálica tiene una apertura en el centro. El bolsillo está cosido en un extremo y tiene un extremo abierto con una correa en el otro.

El anillo D (correa) o el anillo O (cadena) es la ubicación sugerida para conectar la barra de pivote, sin embrago, al cambiar a enlaces distintos o ajustar la correa, puede cambiar la posición del paciente hacia una postura más reclinada o más derecha.

SECTION 6—USO DE ESLINGAS DE UNA SOLA PIEZA PARA USO EN POSICIÓN VERTICAL, PARA ASISTENCIA EN POSICIÓN VERTICAL, DE TRANSPORTE Y DE TRANSFERENCIA ADVERTENCIA El cinturón DEBE estar ajustado, pero cómodo para el paciente, de lo contrario, éste puede deslizarse fuera del cabestrillo durante la transferencia, lo que podría ocasionarle lesiones. 3. Ajuste el cinturón para que quede ajustado pero cómodo. Consulte el ejemplo “C”. 4. Conecte el cabestrillo para ponerse de pie al elevador para ponerse de pie.
SECTION 6—USO DE ESLINGAS DE UNA SOLA PIEZA PARA USO EN POSICIÓN VERTICAL, PARA ASISTENCIA EN POSICIÓN VERTICAL, DE TRANSPORTE Y DE TRANSFERENCIA 4. Jale el soporte de muslos del cabestrillo de transporte debajo de cada muslo del paciente hasta que los soportes de muslos den la vuelta completa alrededor del muslo del paciente. NOTA: Asegúrese que la tela del cabestrillo de transporte sea suave debajo de los muslos del paciente. 5. Fije el cabestrillo de transporte al elevador para ponerse de pie.
SECTION 6—USO DE ESLINGAS DE UNA SOLA PIEZA PARA USO EN POSICIÓN VERTICAL, PARA ASISTENCIA EN POSICIÓN VERTICAL, DE TRANSPORTE Y DE TRANSFERENCIA NOTA: Las correas codificadas por color se pueden usar para colocar al paciente en diversas posiciones. Los colores facilitan la conexión de ambos lados del cabestrillo por igual. 2. Desde el exterior del elevador para ponerse de pie, conecte el cabestrillo para ponerse de pie en el punto de conexión determinado en el PASO 1. Consulte el ejemplo “A”.
SECTION 6—USO DE ESLINGAS DE UNA SOLA PIEZA PARA USO EN POSICIÓN VERTICAL, PARA ASISTENCIA EN POSICIÓN VERTICAL, DE TRANSPORTE Y DE TRANSFERENCIA • La correa codificada por color se ajusta correctamente a la perilla de fijación. Consulte el ejemplo “B”. • La misma correa codificada por color se usa en cada lado del cabestrillo para ponerse de pie. Consulte el ejemplo “C”. • El mismo punto de fijación se utiliza en cada brazo de elevación.
SECTION 6—USO DE ESLINGAS DE UNA SOLA PIEZA PARA USO EN POSICIÓN VERTICAL, PARA ASISTENCIA EN POSICIÓN VERTICAL, DE TRANSPORTE Y DE TRANSFERENCIA 4. Asegúrese de lo siguiente: • El cabestrillo de transporte se envuelve alrededor del exterior de cada brazo de elevación. Consulte el ejemplo “B” de FIGURE 6.4 on page 73. • La correa codificada por color más cercana al paciente se usa para mantener la estabilidad y comodidad. Consulte el ejemplo “B” de FIGURE 6.4 on page 73.
