iSCSI: Creating IP-Based Storage Area Networks (SAN)
iSCSI Overview
The iSCSI page allows you to create iSCSI drives on your Iomega StorCenter px2-300d and allows the
Iomega Storage Manager to communicate with those drives over a network. An iSCSI drive provides a
single place for all your storage, which you can divide as needed to support all computers in your
enterprise business. iSCSI is useful for transmitting large blocks of data over a network at a high
speed.
Only one client computer can connect to an iSCSI drive at a time, so iSCSI drives are not for shared
data. If your business is clustering clients, then a cluster can access iSCSI drives.
