“The Upper Red Cap” Assembly and Use Instructions
Cap Assembly:
1. Using a marine fuel fitting with a ¼” pipe thread, apply Teflon tape to the thread of the fitting to insure an airtight fit.
Note: Yellow Teflon tape must be used, since it is designed not to break down by petroleum products.

2. With the Yellow Teflon tape applied to the fitting, screw the fitting into “The Upper Red Cap” the fittings must be tightened with a 5/8” wrench to secure it tightly.
3. “The Upper Red Cap” now can replace the current OEM cap that comes with your generator.
4. Follow steps 1 &2 when inserting brass fitting into marine gas can.
Directions for using “The Upper Red Cap”
1. Make sure your marine gas tank and generator are on a level secure surface. This will avoid fuel leakage hazards.
2. Fill generator completely with gasoline.
3. Fill marine gas tank until it is full.
4. Connect marine fuel line to brass fitting on “The Upper Red Cap.” While pressing down on the silver clasp on fuel line, insert fuel line into brass fitting.
5. The other end of the marine fuel line will connect to the brass fitting on the marine gas can. While pressing down on silver clasp on fuel line, insert line into brass fitting. .


Note: On the ball of the marine fuel hose there is an “arrow” the direction of the arrow must be pointed to the generator.
6. Open the vent on the marine gas can.
Vent located on cap of gas can.
7. Prime the fuel line by pumping the ball until it is hard.
8. Start generator. In a few minutes, the fuel will transfer from the marine gas tank to generator.
9. After use disconnect fuel line from “The Upper Red Cap” and marine gas can.
10. Close air vent on marine gas can.
Note: Make sure to disconnect fuel line from “The Upper Red Cap” before transporting. Also, make sure to disconnect fuel line from “The Upper Red Cap” before you
unscrew “The Upper Red Cap” from generator. This system works under a small amount of vacuum pressure and will spill a small amount of fuel if you do not disconnect
the fuel line first. Always, make sure the air vent on marine gas can is closed when transporting.
Trouble Shooting
1. Make sure gas tank on generator and your external tank is full with gas
2. Make sure gas line has no cuts or leaks. This would cause it to loose pressure in the system.
3. Make sure “The Upper Red Cap” is on the generator finger tight.
4. Make sure the gas line is flowing the right direction (the arrow on the squeeze ball should point towards the generator connection).
5. Make sure the vent is open on the external gas can. It is located on the top of the fill cap and can be unscrewed to open it.
6. Squeeze ball on gas line until it gets hard to squeeze. This means the system has good pressure.
7. Tank must be sitting at the same level as the generator on a flat surface. Not above or below each other.
8. If the system does not have good pressure, check all fittings and connections for leaks.
