Chapter1 Getting Started Installing Software B20 files. iriver plus 3 and Windows Media Player 11 are integrated programs that efficiently manage music and picture Using iriver plus 3 and Windows Media Player 11, you can save music and picture files from PC to the iriver B20. Chapter2 Basic Operations Turning on/off the Player 1. Press the [ ] button on the product to turn it on. 10 B20 2. Press and hold the [ ] button on the product to turn it off. Note This product has an automatic power saving function to save battery power. Based on the setting in power saving mode, the product will be automatically turned off after designated period without operation. For more information on setting this mode, refer to [Settings > Timer > Auto Power off]. (Refer to page 37.
Chapter2 Basic Operations B20 iriver D-Click System™ 1. The B20 has an unique operating system named iriver D-Click System™. To operate the product, press down on the edge of the screen in one of four directions. Up: Moves to the previous sub-menu. Four arrows will be changed into different shapes based on the functions in each menu. Press and hold [LEFT] to return to the [Home] menu. Left: Moves to the previous menu. Right: Enters to the selected menu. Plays the selected sub-menu.

Chapter2 Basic Operations B20 Connecting Products Connecting Earphones to the B20 1. Connect the earphones to the jack of the product. Using Antenna 1. To enhance signal reception performance of DMB/ DAB broadcasting, pull out the antenna to the full. Note If signal reception performance is poor, pull out and reorient or relocate the receiving antenna. Be sure to check the direction when you fold the antenna. If you fold the antenna to improper direction with excessive power, it can be damaged.
Chapter2 Basic Operations B20 Connecting Products Inserting/Removing Mini SD Card Recommended Types of Mini SD Card 1. Open the card slot cover after turning off the product. 2. Insert and slightly press a Mini SD card to the direction as shown below. 14 3. Press the card again to remove it. Note Be sure to insert/remove a Mini SD card after turning off the product. Do not use excessive power to insert a Mini SD card. It can cause a malfunction of the product or a damage of Mini SD card.

After selecting the file/folder in your PC, drag & drop it to the drive which appears as the product. 1. After selecting the file/folder, click it with the right mouse button and select [Delete]. 2. Click [Yes] in the [Confirm File Delete/Confirm Folder Delete] popup window to delete the file/folder.
Chapter2 Basic Operations B20 Connecting Products Disconnecting the B20 from your PC 1. Click the icon on the taskbar to disconnect the product using the “Safely Remove Hardware” menu. 2. Click the [Stop] button to confirm disconnection. 17 Note The icon on the taskbar may be hidden in some operating systems. Click “Show hidden icons” to display the hidden icon. The “Safely Remove Hardware” may not be available while using some applications such as Windows Explorer or Windows Media Player.

Chapter3 Using the B20 B20 Extras ׀Recording Recording 1. Select [Extras-Recordings] in the [Home] menu. 2. In Standby mode, press [RIGHT] to start recording and press it again to stop recording. 20 Additional Features In Standby mode, press and hold [RIGHT] to display the additional features. Saved Recordings: Displays the list of recorded files. Press [UP/DOWN] to select the file and press [RIGHT] to play it.
Chapter3 Using the B20 B20 Extras ׀Alarm Clock Set Alarm Time 1. Select the [Extras-Alarm Clock] in the [Home] menu. 2. Press [RIGHT] to activate/deactivate alarm clock. Additional Features Press and hold [RIGHT] to display the additional features. Show Icons: Selects whether the icons will be displayed or not in the [Alarm Clock] menu. Set Alarm Time: Sets the time of alarm clock. [RIGHT] – Switches between sub-menus. [UP/DOWN] – Sets the sub-menu.

In game list, press [UP/DOWN] to select the contents and press [RIGHT] to play a game. 3. Refer to the picture below to check the common key functions in flash games.
Chapter3 Using the B20 Extras ׀Text B20 You can read text file conveniently. Selecting Text 1. Select [Extras-Texts] in the [Home] menu. 2. In text list, press [UP/DOWN] to select the file and press [RIGHT] to display the text file. Viewing text Press [UP/DOWN] to scroll up or down. Press [RIGHT] to start or stop the automatic scroll function. Press [LEFT] to display the list of texts. If you stop viewing text, the last displayed page will be stored.

After selecting the file, press and hold [RIGHT]. 2. In file (folder) list, press [UP/DOWN] to select the previous/next file (folder). 3. Press [RIGHT] to move to a sub-folder or play the selected file.

Scanning FM Radio Station After deactivating Preset by pressing [RIGHT], press [UP/DOWN] to move to the previous/next frequency. After deactivating Preset by pressing [RIGHT], press and hold [UP/DOWN] to move to the available previous/next frequency.

While playing music, press and hold [UP/DOWN] to play fast forward or fast reverse. While playing music, press [UP/DOWN] to play the previous/next music.

Scanning DMB/DAB Service While using DMB/DAB service, press the [ / ] button to control the volume. While using DMB/DAB service, press [RIGHT] to display the broadcasting list. Press [UP/DOWN] to select the broadcasting service to use and press [RIGHT] to display it on the screen. 28 Note Max.

Show Icons: Selects whether the icons will be displayed in the [DMB/DAB] screen. TV/Radio : Selects the mode of DMB/DAB broadcasting service. EPG: Displays broadcasting information by time and broadcasting service provider. EPG is available in several countries. Check iriver homepage for more details.
Chapter3 Using the B20 B20 Pictures Selecting Picture 1. Select [Pictures] in the [Home] menu. 2. Press [UP/DOWN] to browse picture using the Play All, Pictures Playlists or Pictures menu. Select [Pictures] to display thumbnails and file names in B20. 3. Select the file and press [RIGHT] to display the picture in full screen. 30 Viewing Picture While playing picture, press [RIGHT] to start/pause a slide show. While playing picture, press [UP/DOWN] to view the previous/next picture.

Chapter4 Setting up the B20 Setting up the B20 You can configure your own settings in the B20. The menu configurations are subject to change with different firmware versions. Date & Time Date & Time: Sets the current time and date. [RIGHT] – Switches between sub-menus. [UP/DOWN] – Sets the sub-menu. Sound 36 Custom EQ: Changes levels of each frequency range to create your own equalization. SRS WOW HD: Sets the levels of 3D sound effect. - SRS : Customizes SRS 3D sound effects.

Home: Returns to [Home] menu while operating the product. Play/Pause: Plays/pauses current playing music or video. Shuffle: Randomly plays music or video. Display Orientation: Reverses the screen 90 degrees. Start/Stop Recording: Starts/stops recording. LCD On/Off: Turns on or off the LCD.

Text Scroll Speed: Sets the scroll speed of characters when file information is too long to display at one time. Rebuild Library: Recreates the library data of a file. Antenna Type: Sets the antenna type to use. 38 If you use earphones as an antenna, the signal might be weaker than using external antenna. DMB/DAB Band: Sets the DMB/DAB band by country.

Keep the antenna away from electric sources such as power outlet. Do not use the product while moving including driving, walking or mountain climbing. Reduce volume or stop using the player if you experience a ringing in your ears. Use the product in a safe place to avoid accident.

Charge the product using USB cable and check it again. - Insert a thin and pointed object (such as a straightened paper clip) into the reset hole to reset the device. The product cannot be charged after connecting power. - Check whether the USB cable is firmly connected. The battery power is consumed even though the product is turned off.

The start-up time is too long. - Check whether too many files are stored in the product. 50 It is recommended to store 1,000 music files and 2000 picture files. Windows Media Player 11 cannot be installed. - Check whether you are currently using Windows® XP. Windows Media Player 11 only supports Windows® XP.
