Installation
1.
When making electrical connections it is always recommen
de
d th
at
the vehicle's
battery
be
disconnected from the electrical system before pe
rf
orming the
installation.
Please Note:
If
the radio
is
equipped
with
a
built
in
CD
Changer, please remove
ALL
d1scs
before proceeding
to
prevent damage
to
the radio's CD mechan1sm.
2. Carefu
ll
y remove the trim panels covering the 1
Omm
bolts that secure the radio
into the dash cavi
ty.
Remove these bolts, and carefully pull the radio from the dash
of
the vehicle. This wi
ll
provide access
to
the factory radio connectors
whe
re you
wi
ll
connect the Media GateWay
ha
rness.
3. Disconnect the factory 12-Pin
ha
rness (if present) from the back of the radio.
If
you are installing the Media GateWay into a
ve
hicle with an external CO Changer
and you are using CD Changer
em
ulation mode, the
CD
Changer will have
to
be
disconnected
at
the chan
ger
l
ocat
ion
for
proper operation.
4. Connect the
8-
Pin iPod docking cable into the first port on the
Me
dia GateWay
(farthest
away
from dipswitches ). Carefully run the
11
foot iPod cable behind
the dash
to
the locati
on
where the iPod wi
ll
be mounted
or
stored (f
or
example the
glove box
or
center consol
e)
.
This
location will vary based on the vehicle,
an
d the
customer's prefrence. When running this cable through the dash be sure to secure
it
away
from moving parts
or
sha
rp
metal edges that may
damage
the cable.
5. Connect the
8-
Pin
aux
iliary input cable
to
the second port (closest
to
the
dipswitches) on the Media GateWay if an additional auxiliary input is des
ir
ed.
Steps 6, 7 & 8 apply
to
Satellite Radio Emulation Mode ONLY

If
connecting the HD Radio Tuner (HD
RT
sold separartely), make the folllowing
co

nec
tions before
co
nnecting
the
P
XAMG
to
the vehichle. Plug the 3 foot HD
Radio Cable (8-Pin mini-din to 8-Pin mini-din) cable into the second port (closest to
the dipswitches)
on
the Media GateWay.
Co
nnect the
ot
h
er
end
of
this cable into
the
HD Radio tuner.
Co
nnect the factory an
te
nna cable into the antenna
co
nn
ec
tion
on
the
HD
Radio tuner (HDRT).
NOTICE:
After
removing
th
e radio,
if
there are
two
antenna leads connected
into
the
back
of
the radio,
your
vehicle
is
equipped
with
a diversi
ty
antenna system.
When connecting the HDRT
follow
the steps
on
the
next
page
to
ensure the
best
performance
of
the HD Radio Tuner.
If
you
do
not
feel comfortable making
these connections
you
will
need
to
purchase the PGHTYHD harness (sold
separately).
