Instruction Manual

APPLICATION
ELECTRICAL GAUGES
WIRING – Use No. 18 AWG wire and eyelet terminals. Ammeters require at least a # 10 AWG wire. Gauges (except for the voltmeter) have 3
terminals. “I” to Ignition. “S” to Sending Unit and “G” to Ground. Sender damage can occur if battery lead (+12 volts) touches the sender unit.
TROUBLE-SHOOTING
Gauge that shows full scale reading – Remove sender wire at gauge. Gauge should return to zero. Solution: Sender or wire have shorted to
ground.
Gauge that does not operate – Check all leads. If O.K., ground sending unit from terminal to engine block. Gauges should go to full scale reading.
If it does, sender is bad. If it doesn’t, then the gauge is the problem.
MECHANICAL GAUGES
Damage to capillary tubes due to incorrect handling will void the warranty. Do not over tighten fittings. All tubing for mechanical gauges must be
routed away from heat sources and sharp edges. Do not kink or bend tubing too sharply.
LIGHTING
Gauge have a two wire light. Attach one wire to dash light dimmer switch and second wire to ground. If replacing a gauge with one wire, the
second wire can be grounded to ground terminal, or if a metal dash is involved, it can be fastened to a bracketed stud.
