Cylinder Bore Measurement
Cylinder Liner Grade Selection
The term "grade" refers to the cylinder body inside diam-
eter and the cylinder liner outside diameter combination.
Measure the cylinder body inside diameter and select
the appropriate cylinder liner grade.
Loose fitting cylinder liners (the liner is too small for the
cylinder bore) will adversely affect engine cooling effi-
ciency and may lead to serious engine damage.
Cylinder liners which are too large for the cylinder bore
will be difficult to install.
Cylinder Body Inside Diameter Measurement
1. Take measurements at measuring point 1 across
the positions W–W, X–X, Y–Y, and Z–Z.
Measuring Point 1 : 115 mm (4.531 in)
2. Calculate the average value of the four measure-
ments to determine the correct cylinder liner grade.
