Cellular 500W Pit Module Installation
Install the pit module using one of the following methods. (For mounting option accessories,
see Mounting Accessories on page 19.)
Through-lid
The pit module mounts in lids with hole sizes from 1.75 inches to 2 inches. Installation requires
the Pit mount kit. For more information, see Through-lid Installation on page 19.
Rod mount
The pit module mounts on a 0.5 inch outside diameter rod. Installation requires the rod mount
adapter.
Wall mount
The pit module mounts to a wall or other vertical surface. Installation requires the rod mount
adapter. For more information, see Wall Mount Installation on page 26.
For Cellular 500W pit boxes, the type of installation method is based on the location of the
meter in the pit box and the lid material. Itron recommends mounting the pit module in pit
boxes with in plastic lids (or other composite materials) for optimum network performance.
The pit modules are temperature rated from -30° C to +60° C. Do not install the pit module in
locations that may exceed the temperature rating.
Important! The Cellular 500W Pit Module is shipped with a protective cover over
the connectors. The protective cover must be fully engaged over the connectors
until the module is installed to protect the module's connectors from damage.
