• If using a detachable power supply or extension cord, the marked electrical rating of extension
cord should be equal to the electrical rating of the appliance.
• If using an extension cord, make sure it does not drape over tables, and is not in a place where it
can be pulled on by children, or tripped over accidentally.
• Keep this unit out of the reach of children and pets.
• The charcoal starter is not intended for use with gas grills. Do not use lighter fluid(s) or other
combustibles with this product.
• Do not operate the charcoal starter longer than eight (8) minutes, as this may cause serious damage
to the element.
• Allow the charcoal starter to thoroughly cool before touching or cleaning any of the metal parts.
• Do not touch any of the metal parts while the unit is in use or before they have thoroughly cooled,
as this may result in serious burns.
• Before storing the charcoal starter, disconnect it from the outlet and let it cool in an open space,
away from flammable objects.
Operation
1. Spread a layer of charcoal or briquettes on the charcoal grate of the grill, or on a bed
of sand or gravel.
2. Lay the electric charcoal starter on top of the charcoal/briquettes with the handle
well outside of the fire area. Pile more charcoal in a pyramid on top of the heating element.
3. Plug the unit into a grounded outlet. After approximately 8 minutes, disconnect and
remove unit from the fire.
4. Spread the coals evenly to form a bed and start grilling.
