MAINTENANCE
PREVENTATIVE CARE
Use proper signage around area you are working in.
An effective barrier matting system should be installed at all entrances to reduce cleaning costs and extend the life of the floor.
Use mats with a non-staining back.
Protect the floor from damage by using good quality protective glides and casters for chairs, tables, and other furniture using
products designed for resilient floors. Caster or wheel damage, in workstations or similar environments, can be avoided by use of
chair pads.
Use 1/4″or thicker plywood to protect the floor when moving heavy objects across the new surface.
Foot traffic is permitted 24 hours after installation when using TROWEL FLOORING ADHESIVE.
Restrict heavy traffic, rolling loads, or furniture placement for 72 hours after installation.
When using ROLL ADHESIVE, foot traffic may begin one hour after installation. Restrict heavy traffic, rolling loads, or furniture
placement for 24 hours after installation with ROLL ADHESIVE.
Additional time may be necessary if the installation is over a non-porous substrate. In this condition, allow at least 5 days following
the installation before conducting wet cleaning procedures or initial maintenance.
For glue down installations, wait 48 hours before wet cleaning and scrubbing new floors.
POST-INSTALLATION / INITIAL CLEANING
Job site conditions will cause grit and dirt to accumulate on new flooring. Initial cleaning must not be performed until 72 hours after
installation. However, it is necessary for the floor to be swept and protected until routine maintenance begins.
SAFETY
Have proper signage in area prior to initial cleaning.
PREPARATION
Remove any protective floor coverings such as wood, cardboard or paper from the floor. Use care not to damage the
floor when removing.
On newly installed floors, please wait a minimum of 5 days before wet mopping or auto scrubbing the floor; Adhesive needs
time to Ivy Hill Tile.
Inspect floor for adhesive residue and remove with mineral spirits and a rag if there is any. Then clean same area with neutral
cleaner and water.
Check and ensure proper casters and chair glides are being used prior to moving in. Install or replace if needed.
