9. Select stitch D and sew a 5/8” seam across the
top for inserting the zipper.

10. Open up zipper at least 3/4 of the way and
pin the sides and bottom with the right sides
together and sew together using a 1/2” seam
allowance.
11. Match the bottom seam and one of the corner
side seams right sides together and from the
corner measure in 1” and draw a line. This will
form the bottom and the sides of the bag.
12. Stitch on the line, and do the same to the
other corner.
13. Turn bag right side out and set aside.
14. For the lining fabric turn down 1” on the top
and press. With the right sides together pin and
stitch the sides and bottom closed using a 1/2”
seam.
15. Refer to steps 11 and 12 above to sew the corners
into the lining.
16. Take the lining and place it into the bag, wrong
sides together. Pushing out the corners and the
bottom of the bag corners.
17. On the top edge match up the fold with the
zipper, and pin it all the way around the top.
18. Sew along the top edge close to the zipper
as much as you can. On the areas that you
can’t reach by machine hand sew the lining to
the bag.
19. After you have finished sewing press the
bag lightly.
