Threading the machine
* Raise the thread take-up lever to its highest position by
pressing the needle position up/down button q.
* Raise the presser foot lifter.
* Place a spool on the spool pin, with the thread coming
off the back of spool (refer to page 24).

NOTE:
The needle threader can be used with a #11 to #16
needle, or a #11 Blue needle.
Thread size 50 to 100 is recommended.

CAUTION:
Turn OFF the power switch when using the needle
threader.

r Thread end
z Raise the needle to its highest position. Pull down the
needle threader knob q as far as it will go.
x Turn the knob q in the direction of the arrow, then insert
the hook w through the needle eye.
Paying close attention to the needle point, draw the
thread around the guide e and under the hook w.
c Release the knob slowly while holding the thread end r
with your hand. A loop of the thread is pulled up through
the needle eye.

z Draw the end of the thread around the upper thread
guide w.
x While holding the thread near the spool, draw the end of
the thread down around the check spring holder e.
c Firmly draw the thread up from right to left over the
take-up lever r, and down into the take-up lever eye.
v Pass the thread through the lower thread guide t.
Slide the thread behind the needle bar thread guide on
the left.
b Thread the needle from front to back, or use a needle
threader.
