Casement/AwningHardware
Note! New operators and hinges are already greased and oiled and
should not need lubrication. Periodically lubricate operator gear
mechanisms with white or lithium grease.
There are two types of operators with gear mechanisms:
• Removablecover
• Non-removablecoverwiththegearsreachablethrough
the back
For operators with removable covers:
Note! Some handle styles don’t have screws and will just pulloff.
1.RemovesetscrewoncrankhandlewithsmallscrewdriverorAllen
wrench;removehandle.
2.Gentlyremoveplasticcover(liftfromthebase).
3.Applygreasetogearsandoiltojoints.
For operators with non-removable covers:
1.Useasmallmirrorforabetterviewofthegears.
2.Applygrease/oilthroughbacksideofoperator.

Lightoilprovideslubricationforrotatingjointssuchashinge
pivots. Spray lubricants or graphite are acceptable, but need
frequentapplication.
1.Openwindowforaccesstojoints.
2. Oil as shown.
SliderTracksandJambLiners
Slidertracksorjamblinerscanbecomedirtyanddifculttooperate.
Keep clean and lubricate as follows:
1.Removesash(es).
2.Vacuumtrackorwipewithasoftcloth.
3.Applyspraysiliconetodry,softcloth.Wipeontotrack,
jamblinerand/orweatherstrip.Donotapplysiliconetopile
(fuzzy)weatherstrip.
4.Reinstallsash(es)andcheckoperation.
PatioDoorRollersandMulti-PointLocks
Removing patio door panels can be dangerous and should be
performed by service personnel or at least with additional help.
1.Removedoorpanel.
2. Tip door panel for access to
rollers on the bottom.
3.Lubricaterollerswhere
the shaft goes through the
middle of the wheels with
lightoil.
4. Lightly oil multi-point lock
at each latchpoint.
5. Spray keyway lock with
graphitelubricant.
