VM9725BT OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS Power On / Off Press the Power On/Off ( ) button to turn the unit on. The buttons on the front of the unit light up and the current mode status appears on the LCD. Press and hold the button to Power On/Off ( ) power off the unit. Audible Beep Confirmation An audible beep tone confirms each function selection. The Beep tone can be disabled through the Setup menu. Mute Momentarily press the rotary encoder to activate the MUTE function. Press again to resume normal listening.

To access the SOURCE MENU, touch the top left corner of the screen or press the SRC button. The SOURCE MENU consists of two pages. Swipe across the screen to go from one page to another.
VM9725BT Rear Source Menu The Rear Source Menu Screen allows you to select an audio/video source for your vehicle’s rear zone. Touch the Disc, SOHC, F-USB (Front USB), R-USB (Rear USB), AUX1or AUX2 icons to select the corresponding source NOTE: If an iPod® is attached to a USB port, “iPOD” appears instead of the text “F-USB” or “R-USB.
VM9725BT External Devices External peripheral devices, including a game console, camcorder, navigation unit, iPod®, Zune, etc. can be connected to this unit via RCA output using an A/V Media Adapter Cable (not included). VM9725BT Equalizer and Balance/Fader Controls The equalizer and balance/fader controls allow you to easily adjust your audio system to meet the acoustical characteristics of your vehicle, which vary depending on the type of vehicle and its measurements. Proper setting of the Fader and Balance boosts the effects of the cabin equalizer. Equalizer Screen Touch the EQ button display the equalizer screen.
VM9725BT Preset EQ Selection Equalizer presets apply a preset sound level to the unit’s audio output signal. Touch the User, Acoustic, Urban, Rave, Latin, Dance, Hip Hop or Rock button to change the setting. NOTE: The equalizer will automatically change to “USER” when individual audio functions are adjusted. To Exit the Equalizer: • Touch the X button on the top right corner of the screen to return to the source screen. • Touch the BAL-FAD button to display the balance/fader screen.

Sub icon: Reduces or increases the subwoofer sound level.
VM9725BT System Reset To correct a system halt or other illegal operation, use [RESET] Button the tip of a pen to press the reset button located over the rotary encoder. After a system reset, the unit restores all factory default settings. NOTE: If the unit is reset while a DVD is playing, the DVD resumes play once the reset is complete. Image/Display Settings Video Output Modes Table 3 shows the video output mode for each playing source.
VM9725BT STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS (SWC) (if equipped) The VM9725BT is compatible with the PAC (Pacific Accessory Corporation) SWI-PS and Metra ASWC steering wheel control adapters. A 3.5mm female connector (labeled “SWC Interface”) on the back of the head unit allows connectivity to the adapters. VM9725BT SETTINGS MENU When using the VM9725BT for the first time, it is recommended that you customize the system settings to suit your preferences. You may also change the settings at any time. To access system settings: 1. Touch the Settings button on the Source Menu screen to enter the SETTINGS MENU. The General Sub-menu appears highlighted in blue. 2. Touch a sub-menu name icon (Video, General, Time, etc.) to select a submenu.
VM9725BT NOTE: If the rear-view video camera is connected and the unit is on, Camera mode is selected upon shifting into REVERSE gear. If the monitor is in display mode, the monitor automatically switches to CAMERA mode upon reverse driving. When the reverse driving stops, the monitor returns to its original input mode. VM9725BT Language Sub-menu Settings If a DVD supports more than one subtitle or audio language, all the languages are available for selection during playback. VM9725BT DVD Rating Sub-menu Settings The DVD system has a built-in parental lock feature to prevent unauthorized persons from viewing restricted disc content. By default, the rating system is unlocked. Once set up, the parental lock is released only by entering the correct password. Once the password is entered, rating is available for setup.

RDS ON/OFF: Radio Data System (RDS) enables traffic reports to be received and provides many facilities, including enabling the radio station name to be displayed on the radio display. CT ON/OFF: (Clock Time, RDS feature) When enabled the radio system clock is synchronized with broadcasters time signal setting the clock automatically.
VM9725BT Switching to Radio Tuner Source • Touch the top left corner of the screen (the RADIO box) to view the SOURCE MENU. Touch “Radio”. • Press the SRC button on the front panel to switch to the AM/FM or RADIO source. VM9725BT Using Preset Stations Six numbered preset buttons store and recall stations for each band. All six stored stations (P1-P6) for the current band appear on the screen. Storing a Station 1. Select a band (if needed), then select a station. 2. Touch the on-screen Mem icon to access the Preset Screen. 3. Touch the preset number in which you would like to store the current station (or touch X to cancel and close the menu). The station frequency is displayed at the top of the menu.
VM9725BT Auto Store (AS) Auto Store is most useful when travelling in an area where you are not familiar with the local stations. The Auto-Store Tuning feature will automatically scan and enter up to eighteen FM strong stations into the preset memory locations for the FM1, FM2 and FM3 bands or twelve strong AM stations into the preset memory locations for the AM1 and AM2 bands. Each band stores up to six preset stations. To select six strong stations and store them in the current band: 1.
VM9725BT Search for Station by Program Type Program type (PTY) allows users to find similar programming by genre. 1. From the Tuner TFT Display, touch the Options icon to display the Options Screen. 2. Touch the PTY List icon to display the Program Type Screen. 3. Touch a program type, then touch the Search icon. The unit searches for the respective stations and stops when a station is found. Note: Touch the or icon to scroll up or down the page.
VM9725BT DVD/VCD VIDEO OPERATION NOTE: When properly installed, DVD video cannot be displayed on the main TFT screen unless the parking brake is applied. If you attempt to play a DVD while the vehicle is moving, the TFT screen displays: DVD/VCD TFT Display WARNING !!! It is illegal to view video while driving or operating a motor vehicle. VM9725BT Controlling Playback Inserting a Disc Upon inserting a DVD disc, DVD mode is entered and disc play begins. NOTE: If Parental Lock (Rating) is activated and the disc inserted is not authorized, the 4-digit code must be entered and/or the disc must be authorized (see “Rating Sub-menu Features”). You cannot insert a disc if there is already a disc in the unit or if the power is off. NOTE: DVD-R and DVD-RW will not play unless the recording session is finalized and the DVD is closed.
VM9725BT Sectional Repeat Function (A-B) Use the A-B function to define a specific area of a disc to repeat. • Touch A-B on the second page of DVD on-screen controls to set the start point (A) of the repeated section. • Touch A-B again once you reach the desired end point (B) of the repeated section. The selected portion of the DVD will now repeat continuously. • Touch A-B a third time to cancel the A-B section setting and stop repeat play.
VM9725BT Multi-Language Discs (DVD Only) Changing Audio Language If you are watching a disc recorded in multiple languages, touch Audio on the second page of DVD on-screen controls to choose a language. Each time the icon is touched the language will change. Changing Subtitle Language If you are watching a disc recorded in multiple languages with subtitles, touch Subtitle on the second page of DVD on-screen controls to choose the language in which you would like the subtitles to appear.

Media and File Requirements This player allows you to play back MP3 and WMA files recorded onto CD-R/RWs, DVD+R/RWs, and DVD-R/RWs. For CD-RW discs, please make sure it is formatted using the full method and not the quick method to prevent illegal disc operation.
VM9725BT For example, a medium with the following folder/file hierarchy is subject to Folder Search, File Search or Folder Select, as shown below. The VM9725BT player will only recognize three folder levels and does not display folders containing only other folders. In the example above, the unit will display folders 3, 4, 6, and 8, but not 2 and 7 since they do not contain any tracks directly. Folder 5 is not recognized at all since it is at the fourth level.

VM9725BT PANDORA RADIO OPERATION Pandora Radio is available via your iPhone® (data usage will occur) or iPod® touch (Wi-Fi). NOTE: For basic iPod®/ iPhone® connectivity, you can use the white 30-pin to USB iPod cable that came with your Apple device . For iPod® video or photo playback, you must purchase the jLink-USB cable. NOTE: The Pandora app must be installed on your iPhone®/iPod® touch.

VM9725BT About GPS and GNSS The unit uses a vehicle Global Positioning System (GPS)-based navigation device which uses digital map data to guide you from your selected location A to location B, using location information obtained from a Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS).
VM9725BT Acquiring a Satellite Signal The initial GPS location lock is best established when your vehicle is parked. If the device is in motion, the signal can take longer to initially connect. Once the initial coordinates are established, the software will follow you as you move and navigate. Drive your vehicle to an open area where the GPS signal can be clearly received and park the vehicle. If the device is in motion, the signal can take longer to initially connect.
VM9725BT GETTING STARTED iGO primo is optimized for in-car use. There is no need to use a stylus. You can use it easily by tapping the screen buttons and the map with your fingertips. Accessing the Navigation Software Press the MENU button and touch the Navigation icon to access navigation mode. Adjusting the Navigation Voice Volume While the Navigation is on and a route has been programmed, the Navigation will speak commands.

Otherwise, iGO primo saves your selections and applies the new settings without confirmation as soon as you use the controls.

VM9725BT MAP SCREEN The Map screen is the most frequently used screen of iGO primo. Navigating On the Map A small live map is displayed on the startup screen, the Navigation Menu, as a part of the button. To enlarge this small map and open the Map screen, tap . This map shows the current position (the Vehimarker, a red arrow by default), the recommended route (an orange line), and the surrounding map area. When there is no GPS position, the Vehimarker is transparent. It shows your last known position.
VM9725BT When GPS position is available, the Vehimarker is displayed in full color, now showing your current position. There are screen buttons and data fields on the screen to help you navigate. During navigation, the screen shows route information. By default, only one data field is displayed in the bottom right corner. Tap this field to see all route data fields. Tap any of the data fields to suppress others and display only the selected one.

Shows the speed limit of the current road if the map contains it. Shows the current time corrected with time zone offset. The accurate time comes from the GPS satellites, and the time zone information comes from the map or it can be set manually in Regional settings.
VM9725BT Position Markers Vehimarker and Lock-on-Road When your GPS position is available, iGO primo marks your current position with the Vehimarker. By default, this marker is a red arrow, but you can change this icon in Settings. The exact location of the Vehimarker depends on the vehicle type used for route calculation. The vehicle type can be selected in Route settings. • If you choose pedestrian: The Vehimarker is at your exact GPS position. The direction of the icon shows your current heading.
VM9725BT Objects On the Map Streets and Roads iGO primo shows the streets in a way that is similar to how the paper road maps show them. Their width and colors correspond to their importance: you can easily tell a freeway from a small street. Turn Preview and Next Street When navigating a route, the top section of the Map screen shows information about the next route event (maneuver) and the next street or the next city/town. There is a field in the top left corner that displays the next maneuver.

Lane Information and Signposts When navigating on multilane roads, it is important to take the appropriate lane in order to follow the recommended route. If lane information is available in the map data, iGO primo displays the lanes and their directions using small arrows at the bottom of the map. Highlighted arrows represent the lanes you need to take. Where additional information is available, signposts substitute arrows.
VM9725BT Junction View If you are approaching a freeway exit or a complex intersection and the needed information exists, the map is replaced with a 3D view of the junction. The lanes you need to take are displayed with arrows. Signposts can also be present if information is available.

In other cases tapping a button will open a new screen with options. Most of these functions are shortcuts. They are accessible from the menu system.

Opened from the Quick menu, this screen contains information about the current position (or about the last known position if GPS reception is not available) and a button to search for useful Places nearby. VM9725BT NAVIGATING You can set up your route in different ways: • If you need a route for immediate navigation, you can select the destination and start navigating to it right away (normal navigation). • You can also plan a route independently of your current GPS position or even without GPS reception (to achieve this, you need to turn off the GPS receiver and set a new starting point in My Route / Edit Route by tapping the flag icon at the current position). You can plan routes with multiple destinations.

Two of those recent destinations are shown in the Destination menu for easy access. Smart History offers these locations based on your navigation habits, using parameters like the current time of day, the day of week, and the current location. The more you use the navigation software, the better it can guess your desired destination.

VM9725BT Setting a New Starting Position for the Route For normal navigation, all routes are planned from the current position. In order to check future routes, simulate them or see their length in time and distance, you can turn off the GPS receiver. Then you can set the starting point of the route to a different location than the current GPS position. If you are on the Map screen, tap Navigation menu. 2. In the Navigation menu, tap to return to the 1. 3.

VM9725BT SAVING A LOCATION AS A FAVORITE DESTINATION You can add any location to Favorites, the list of frequently used destinations. 1. Select a destination as described before. It can be an address, a Place, any location on the map, a previously used destination from History, a coordinate or a location where a photo was taken. 2. When the full screen map appears with the selected location in the middle, tap . 3. Tap . 4. (Optional) Using the keyboard, you can change the name offered for the Favorite.
VM9725BT SAVING A LOCATION AS AN ALERT POINT You can save any map location as an alert point (for example a speed camera or a railroad crossing). 1. Browse the map and select a location. The red Cursor appears there. 2. Tap . 3. Scroll down the list and tap . 4. On the newly opened screen, select the type of the alert point, the direction from which you expect the alert, and (if applicable) the speed limit for this alert point. 5. Tap 104 to save the location as a new alert point.
VM9725BT EDITING AN ALERT POINT You can edit a previously saved or uploaded alert point (for example a speed camera or a railroad crossing). 1. Browse the map and select the alert point to edit. On the newly opened screen, modify the type of the alert point, the direction from which you expect the alert, or (if applicable) the speed limit for this alert point. 5. Tap to save the changes to the alert point.
VM9725BT WATCHING THE SIMULATION OF THE ROUTE You can run a simulated navigation that demonstrates the active route. Do as follows: 1. If you are on the Map screen, tap to return to the Navigation menu. 2. In the Navigation menu, tap 3. Tap . . 4. Scroll down the list and tap . The simulation starts from the starting point of the route, and using a realistic speed, it leads you through the whole recommended route.

CONCEPTS Smart Zoom Smart Zoom provides much more than just a usual automatic zoom feature: • While following a route: when approaching a turn, it will zoom in and raise the view angle to let you easily recognize your maneuver at the next junction.

Usually the best selection for fast and normal cars. • : Gives a route that has the smallest total distance of all possible routes. It can be practical for slow vehicles. • : Gives a quick but fuel efficient route based on the fuel consumption data given in Green Routing settings (page 88).
VM9725BT • Maneuver restrictions and directional constraints (if they are applied to bicycles in the map data) are taken into account when planning a route. • Roads are used only if access for bicycles or pedestrians is allowed. • Controlled-access roads are excluded from routes. • A private road is used only if the destination is there. • Speed limits are not used in route calculation and an average cycling speed is used when calculating the estimated time of arrival.
VM9725BT Road types used or avoided in route calculation: • • • • • • Whenever data exist, route calculation takes into account statistical traffic data for the given day of week and time of day. Real-time Traffic events are also taken into account and sometimes greatly modify the route. iGo primo automatically recalculates the route if you deviate from the proposed itinerary or if a newly received Traffic event concerns a part of the recommended route.
VM9725BT Green Routing Route calculation is not only about finding the quickest or shortest route. For some of the vehicle types, you can also check the fuel consumption and CO2 emission when planning a route, and you can create cost effective routes with less effect on the environment. to enter the necessary parameters of your vehicle In Settings, select and the average fuel price.
VM9725BT Road Safety Cameras and Other Proximity Alert Points There is a special proximity warning for road safety cameras (like speed or red light cameras) and other proximity alert points (like schools or railroad crossings). These alert points are preloaded in iGo primo. You can download more from www. naviextras.com or you can upload points in a specific text file if needed. You can also add your own alert points or edit the preloaded or uploaded points.
VM9725BT GPS Position Quality Indicators You can find useful information in the top corners of menu screens. In the top right corner, the GPS reception quality icon shows the current accuracy of the position information. Icon Description iGo primo has no connection to the GPS receiver: GPS navigation is not possible. Devices with a built-in GPS receiver are permanently connected. On such devices, the icon does not appear in normal circumstances.

You must ensure on your own liability that using this feature is legal in the country where you intend to use it. This button is not displayed when GPS position is not available or if you are in certain countries where road safety camera warning is prohibited. Even if the button is available, you are responsible for checking whether it is legal to use this feature at your location.
VM9725BT You can control the volume of the following sound types: Button Description This is the main volume control. These controls affect all below sounds. They can also be accessed from the Quick menu. These controls affect the volume of the guidance sounds (verbal instructions). These controls affect the volume of the alert sounds (beeps). These controls affect the volume of the background music. Key sounds provide audible confirmation of tapping the touch screen. These controls affect key sounds.
VM9725BT Customize Quick Menu The content of the Quick menu is fully customizable. Tap the button you want to change, and select its new function from the list. Traffic Settings The recommended route is not always the same between two points. Whenever suitable data exists, offline statistical traffic information (historical speed information or traffic patterns) can be taken into account in the route calculation based on the time of day and the day of week. This function is subject to data availability.
VM9725BT Route Settings These settings determine how routes will be calculated. Button Description You can set the type of vehicle you will use to navigate the route. Based upon this setting, some of the road types can be excluded from the route, or some of the restrictions may not be taken into account in route calculation. The route calculation can be optimized for different situations and vehicle types by changing the planning method. See below for details.
VM9725BT iGo primo excludes unpaved roads by default: unpaved roads can be in a bad condition and usually you cannot reach the speed limit on them. Carpool or HOV lanes can be used if a given number of passengers are traveling in the vehicle. You should check whether you are allowed to use carpool lanes before enabling this road type. Vehicle types: • Maneuver restrictions and directional constraints are taken into account when planning a route. • Roads are used only if access for cars is allowed.
VM9725BT • • All maneuvers are available in intersections. • Directional constraints are taken into account the way that opposite direction is allowed with a low speed. • A private road is used only if the destination is there. • Walkways are excluded from routes. • Maneuver restrictions and directional constraints are taken into account when planning a route. • Roads are used only if access for buses is allowed. • Private roads, resident-only roads and walkways are excluded from routes.

Button Description Enter the average consumption of your vehicle when used in built-up areas. If necessary, tap select and to change the measurement unit. The map is always shown on the screen so that you can see the effect when you change a setting.
VM9725BT Show or suppress 3D city models, 3D artistic or block representation of full city building data containing actual building size and position on the map. Turn on or off track log saving, that is, saving the sequence of the locations your journeys go through. Select which Places to show on the map while navigating. Too many Places make the map crowded so it is a good idea too keep as few of them on the map as possible. For this, you have the possibility to save different Place visibility sets.
VM9725BT Visual Guidance Settings Settings related to guidance on the map screen can be adjusted here. Button Description The data fields in the corner of the Map screen can be customized. Tap this button and select the values you want to see. The values can be different when you navigate a route from when you are just cruising without a given destination.
VM9725BT Display Settings Display related settings include menu animations, separate skins for daytime and night use and the brightness of the display. Button Description When animation is turned on, buttons on menus and keyboard screens appear in an animated way. Screen transitions are also animated. Select the style and colors of the application used in daytime mode. Select the style and colors of the application used in night mode. Adjust the display backlight.
VM9725BT Trip Monitor Settings Trip logs and track logs contain useful information about your trips. Trip logs can be saved manually when you reach your destination or you can turn on the automatic saving here. You can access these logs in the Trip monitor. Trip monitor is available from the More menu. Button Description Trip monitor can record statistical data of your trips. If you need these logs later, you can let the application save them automatically for you. This is not a button.

Because the satellites are moving and because objects can block the signals, your GPS device might not receive four signals.
