17.0 Allowable limits
17.1 Hook wear limits (top and bottom)
Normal hook measurements are shown in the chart below. Replace the hook if it exceeds the given
measurements. Never heat-treat the hook or attach anything to the hook by welding.
NOTE: Excessive hook throat opening or twist indicates abuse or overloading of the hoist. If such deformation is
discovered, inspect the hoist, chain and all supporting members very carefully for additional indications of
excessive hoist loading.
