This symbol indicates specic risks associated with handling, function or use.
The “hand” symbol represents special tips and operating information.
The product is only intended to be installed and used in dry, indoor spaces; it must
not get damp or wet.
  Observe the operating instructions!

  a) General
  • The unauthorised conversion and/or modication of the product is not permitted
for safety and approval reasons (CE). Do not open/disassemble! Contains no
customer-serviceable parts.
Maintenance, adjustment or repair work may only be carried out by an expert/
authorised service centre, which is familiar with the hazards involved and the rel-
evant regulations.
  • This product is not a toy. Devices operated using mains voltage should not be
used by children. Therefore, be especially careful when children are around.
Children could attempt to poke objects into the product. Not only does this damage
the product, but it also poses an injury hazard as well as a risk of fatal electrical
shock!
  • The product is designed according to Protection Class I. It may only be used when
connected to an earthed mains socket.
  • Do not carelessly leave the packaging material lying around since this may be-
come a dangerous toy for children.
  • Handle the product with care; it may be damaged by impacts, blows, or accidental
falls, even from a low height.
  • If you have any questions that are not answered in these operating instructions,
please contact our technical department or another specialist.
  b) Operation
  • The product may only be operated when it is permanently installed in a PC housing.
  • The product is designed according to Protection Class I. Only a standard safety
mains socket connected to the public supply grid may be used as the voltage
source.
  • The outlet used for the connection must be located in direct proximity to the device
and easily accessible.
  • The product must not become damp or wet; it is only intended for use in dry, indoor
locations.
  • Never pour any liquids above or next to the product.
Do not place containers with liquids, such as vases or plants, on or next to the
computer. Liquids may seep into the casing and thus impair the electrical safety
of the device. Furthermore, there is a signicant risk of re or of a lethal electric
shock!
If any liquid has still managed to enter the device, immediately turn off the power
supply to the mains socket at which the product is connected (turn off the fuse /
circuit breaker / ELCB of the associated circuits). Only then can you unplug the
mains plug of the product from the mains socket and contact a specialist. Do not
use the product anymore.
  • Avoid the following unfavourable ambient conditions at the installation point or
during transportation or storage:
    - Excessive humidity or dampness
    - Extreme cold or heat
    - Direct sunlight
    - Dust or ammable gases, fumes or solvents
    - Strong vibrations
    - Strong magnetic elds such as those found in the vicinity of machinery or loud-
speakers
  •
Do not operate the device in environments where there are high levels of dust, am-
mable gases, vapours or solvents. There is a danger of re and explosion!
  • Ensure that the computer/power unit is ventilated adequately at the place of set-
up. The computer has to be set up/installed so air circulation is possible. Never
cover the ventilation openings of the power unit; never cover the computer when it
is in use.
  • Never insert objects into the openings in the housing; lethal hazard due to electric
shock!
  • If you take the power supply (or the computer in which the power supply is in-
stalled) from a cold room in to a warm room, condensation may form. Allow the
power supply (and the computer in which the power supply is installed) to reach
room temperature before connecting it to the mains voltage and switching it on.
This may take several hours. Otherwise, not only may the power supply or the
computer be destroyed, but there is also the risk of a life-threatening electric
shock!
  • Do not handle the power supply, computer, mains cable and mains plug with damp
or wet hands. Otherwise there is the risk of a fatal electric shock!
  •
The power cable must not be pinched or damaged by contact with sharp edges. Do
not place any objects on the cable, and do not allow it to become kinked. Install the
cable where no one can stumble over it and the plug is easily accessible. Do not
install the mains cable under carpets or the like.
  • Do not pull the plug of the mains cable out of the power supply or the mains socket
by the cable!
  • Do not use the product when it is damaged (e.g., housing, mains cable). There is
a risk of a life-threatening electric shock!
Safe operation can no longer be assumed if:
    - the product shows visible signs of damage
    -
the product does not work at all or works poorly (leaking smoke or a smell of burn-
ing, audible cracking noises, discolouration to the product or the adjacent surfaces)
    - the product was stored under unfavourable conditions
    - it was exposed to heavy loads during transport
  • If the power supply or mains cable is damaged, do not touch it; electric shock car-
ries a risk of danger to life!
First, turn off the mains voltage to all poles of the mains socket to which the prod-
uct is connected (e.g. switch off at the corresponding circuit breaker or remove the
safety fuse, then turn off at the ELCB).
Then you can remove the mains plug from the mains socket. Discontinue use of
the product, take it to a specialised workshop or dispose of in an environmentally
friendly manner.
  • Use the product only in a temperate climate, never in a tropical climate.
  • Switch the product off and unplug it from the mains socket before cleaning it or
when it is not to be used for a while.
