The upp er lift , swing , and drive a re con trolled b y in dividu al
joysti cks, wi th steeri ng be ing c ontrolled by a roc ker swit ch
built into the top the drive joystick. To activate Drive, Lift,
and Swing simply pull up on the slide lock location on the
joystick and move the handle into the directio n desired.
The moto r controll er will cont rol current output, as pro-
grammed f or smoo th oper atio n and maxi mum cy cle time.
Ground control speeds for all boom functions can also be
programmed into the motor controller. The motor control-
ler al so featu res an adjusta ble ti me limi t for po sitive t rac-
tion.
The JLG Control System controller has a built in LED to
indicate any faults. The system stores recent faults which
may be acc essed f or troubl eshooting. Optional equip-
ment includes an hour meter, beacon light, function cut-
out, and ground alarm. These options may be added later
but must be programmed i nto the motor contr oller wh en
installed.
The Control System may be accessed in one of two ways:
Utilizing a custom designed, hand held analyzer (Ana-
lyzer, JLG part no. 1600244 & Cable, JLG part no.
1600633) whi ch will display two lines of i nformation at a
time, by scrolling through the program.
NOTE: Each module has a label with the JLG part number
and a serial number w hich contains a date cod e.
The follow ing instruc tions are for using the hand held a na-
lyzer.
To Connect th e JLG Control System
Analyzer
1. Connect the four pin end of the cable supplied with
the analyzer, to the motor controller module located
in the platform box or at the power module and con-
nect the remaining end of the cable to the analyzer.
NOTE: The cable has a four pin connector at each end of
the cable; the cable cannot be connected back-
wards.
2. Power up the Control System by turning the lower
key to the platform or ground position and pulling
both emergency stop buttons on.
Using the Analyzer
With the machine p ower on and the analyzer connected
properly, the analyzer will display the following:

At this point, using the RIGHT and LEFT arrow keys, you
can move between the top level menu items. To select a
displayed menu item, press ENTER. To cancel a selected
menu item, press ESC.; then you wil l be able to scroll
using the right and left arrow keys to select a different
menu item .
