INSTALLATION Signal Connectors and Power Controls The LSS-10 and LSS-12’s signal connectors and power controls are located on the unit’s rear panel, as shown in Figure 1. They function as follows: NOTE: See Applications starting on page 7 for detailed wiring connections for your application.
2. (Auto) POWER Switch: Use the ALWAYS ON mode to leave the LSS-10 and LSS-12 always on. Use the MUSIC/VOLTAGE SENSE mode to automatically power on the LSS-10 and LSS-12 when audio signals are present or when system trigger is used. When signals are absent, the LSS-10 and LSS-12 will enter the standby mode. NOTE: The ALWAYS ON and MUSIC/VOLTAGE SENSE settings are only active after (Master) POWER is set to ON (see below). 3.
CONTROLS AND CONNECTORS Operation Controls The LSS-10 and LSS-12’s operation controls are located on the unit’s front panel, as shown in Figure 2. They function as follows: 1 4 2 3 Figure 2. The LSS-10 and LSS-12’s front panel contains the subwoofer’s operation controls. 1. LOW PASS Frequency Control: Use this control to set the upper frequency level that the subwoofer will reproduce. It can be between 60 to 125 Hz. Also see SETTING UP THE LSS-10 AND LSS-12 on page 5. 2.
FINISHING THE INSTALLATION Adjusting the Feet The LSS-10 and LSS-12 are equipped with four adjustable spiked feet, pre-installed with large, slip-on rubber covers. At the final placement location, adjust the feet/spikes as follows: ■ On hard floors (e.g., wood, tile, etc.), check the LSS-10 and LSS-12’s stability and, if needed, adjust the rubber feet one at a time until the cabinet is level. ■ On carpeted floors, tilt the LSS-10 and LSS-12 up and remove each rubber cover.
4. Continue listening to your favorite music and movie sources. If you want a more solid-sounding bass (with less overtones), try moving the LOW PASS FREQUENCY control toward the lower frequencies. Experiment with different frequency settings until you find one that sounds best. If needed, readjust the LEVEL control (see step 3). 5. Continue listening to your favorite music and movie sources using the appropriate setting for LEVEL SETUP.
