Tools and Parts Required
To remove components from the chassis or the chassis from a rack
prior to returning the chassis or components for repair or replacement,
you need the f
ollowing tools and parts:

3/8–inch nut
driver or 3/8–inch wrench
Blank filler
panels
Electrostat
ic bag or antistatic mat
Electrostat
ic discharge (ESD) grounding wrist strap
Flat-blade (

Phillips (+)
screwdrivers, numbers 1 and 2
Plastic boot
s or other protective cover for fiber-optic SC and LC co nnectors
Wire cutters
Returning Products for Repair or Replacement
In the event of a hardware failure, please conta ct Juniper Networks to obtain
a Return Mat
erial Authorization (RMA) numb er. This number is n ece ssary to
ensure proper tracking and handling of returned material at the factory. Do
not return any hardware until you have received an RMA. Juniper Networks
reserves th
e right to re fuse shipments that do not have an RMA. Refused
shipments will be returned to th e shipper via collect freight.

Packing Instructions for Returning a Chassis
If possib le, use the original shipping crate, pallet, and packin g materials in
which the chassis was originally shipped. If these material s are unavailable, use
comparabl
e shipping material, or contact your Juniper Networks representative
for information on approved packaging material.
