4 Permanent settings in programming mode
The harder the water is, the more frequently the D4 needs to be
descaled. It is therefore important to set the water hardness accur-
ately.
The water hardness was set when the machine was first used. You
can change this setting at any time.
The number of symbols that are lit up indicates the set water hard-
ness level:
Level Water hardness
The ; symbol lights up brightly.
1–15°dH
The ; and : symbols light up brightly.
16–23°dH
The ;, : and _ symbols light up brightly.
24–30°dH
Precondition:Your D4 is ready for use.
T Touch the Double Product symbol ‘2x’ for approximately
2 seconds.
The ‘2x’, <, >, L and & symbols light up brightly.
T Touch the Coffee symbol >.
T Select the water hardness you require by touching the cor-
responding Coffee Strength symbol.
T Touch the Coffee symbol > to confirm the water hardness
setting.
Your D4 is once more ready for use.
