4 Permanent settings in programming mode
The harder the water is, the more frequently the GIGA needs to be
descaled. It is therefore important to adjust the water hardness.
The water hardness can be adjusted on a continuous scale between
1° dH and 30° dH.
Precondition:
‘Please select product:’ is displayed.
O T Press the P button.
‘Maintenance status (1/5)’
g T Turn the Rotary Switch until the programme item ‘Machine
settings (3/5)’
is displayed.
T Press the
‘Maintenance settings’ button.

T Press the ‘Water hardness’ button.
‘Water hardness’
T Press the ‘+’ or ‘–’ button to set the water hardness.
T Press the
‘Save’ button.
‘Saved’ appears briefly on the display.

O T Press the P button to exit programming mode.
‘Please select product:’
In the programme item ‘Machine settings (3/5)’ / ‘Save energy’ you
can permanently set an energy-saving mode (Energy Save Mode,

Your GIGA is only constantly ready for use for speciality cof-
fees and hot water.

Before you can prepare a speciality coffee with milk, the
machine must heat up.

‘Save Level 2’

Soon after the last preparation, the GIGA stops heating up.
After about 5 minutes the message
‘Energy Save’ is dis-
played.
