Playing VHS Tapes

9 Play back programmes recorded on a VHS
tape. Tapes recorded in S-VHS format can
also be played. However, it will not be of the
original S-VHS high image quality. (ASQPB
(S-VHS Quasi Playback) functionB [ P14])

NOTES:
0 If the end of the tape is reached during playback or
fast-forwarding, it will be rewound automatically.
0 Set the following to adjust to the best picture
according to the tape in use. Setup Menu APICTURE
CONTROLB = AAUTOB [ P115] n
0 The picture quality can be set as desired.
0 Automatically stops if pausing continues beyond 5
minutes.
0 Set the following when recording MESECAM signals
or playing MESECAM tapes. Setup Menu ACOLOUR
SYSTEMB = AMESECAMB [ P115] o
To eject the tape
0 Press M on the unit.
A Select the playback deck.
B Load a tape.
C Start playback.
Possible operations during playback

Playback
0 Resumes normal playback
when pressed during pause
or forward search.
Stop
0 Stops playback and displays
the broadcast screen.
Pause
0 Pauses playback and
displays a still image.
Each press of the button
advances one frame at a
time.
0 Holding for more than 2
seconds during playback
activates slow motion
playback (frame-by-frame
playback).
Forward
Search
0 Switches between the
following speeds with each
press.
SP (Standard) +5x speed Y
+11x speed
LP (2x) +11x speed Y +31x
speed
Reverse
Search
0 Performs reverse playback
(-1x speed) if pressed, then
switches between the
following speeds with each
press.
SP (Standard) -5x speed Y
-11x speed
LP (2x) -11x speed Y
-31x speed
0 Press PLAY to return to
normal playback.
Skip
Search
0 Skips forward for
approximately 30 seconds
and resumes playback.
One
Touch
Replay
0 Skips back for approximately
7 seconds and resumes
playback.
