Troubleshooting
What appears to be a malfunction may not always be serious. Please go through the following list before requesting service.

Power does not come on. Power plug is not inserted securely. Plug in securely.
Symptom Remedy
The remote control unit does not work. More closer to the unit.
Possible cause
Too far from the unit.
The tip of the remote control unit is not
pointed in the right direction.
Point the infrared light- emitting window
toward the remote sensor on the front
panel. (See page 10.)
Batteries are exhausted. Replace the batteries with new ones.
Battery polarity is incorrect. Take out the batteries and insert them again
in the correct direction.
The TV/VIDEO - CANCEL, A/v/4/l_ or
numeric buttons do not work.
Operation is not possible.
The remote control unit is not set for
operating your TV.
The TV - DVD switch is not correctly set.
Microcomputer malfunction due to
lightning or static electricity.
Set the remote control unit for operating
your TV. (See page 12.)
To control the unit, set the TV - DVD switch
to "DVD". To control your TV, set the TV -
DVD switch to "TV". (See page 11.)
Turn off the power and unplug the power
cord, then connect the power cord again.
When using the TITLE/GROUP button to
select a title during DVD VIDEO playback, Q
appears on the TV screen and the title
cannot be selected.
Moisture condensation caused by a sudden Turn off the power, then turn it on a few
change of temperature or humidity, hours later.
