INITIAL SETTINGS EN Plug & Play Auto Clock Set/Auto Tuner Set The Plug & Play function sets the clock and tuner channels automatically when power is first connected to the recorder. The antenna cable must be connected for the Plug & Play function. The time and date can be set automatically from clock setting data that is transmitted by one of the regular TV broadcast channels. We call this TV channel the “Host Channel” and it is a PBS channel in your area.

You can record up to 60 programs for the HDD deck. Each time a program is recorded on the HDD deck, the information of the program are registered in the HDD Navigation automatically. So, you can confirm the information of the programs recorded on the HDD with the HDD Navigation Screen.

S-VHS allows you to make high quality video recordings with a horizontal resolution of 400 lines. This compares with the 240 lines of resolution of normal VHS recordings. To achieve the highest quality picture we recommend that you record in S-VHS mode. By using S-VHS ET it is possible to record and play back with SVHS picture quality on VHS cassettes with this recorder.

EN TIMER RECORDING VCR Plus+® Timer Programming Timer recording allows you to program the recorder to automatically record a program that will be broadcast at some future time. The timer record function can be programmed using the VCR Plus+ or Express Timer programming (Z pg. 58) up to 16 shows each on the HDD and VHS decks as far as a year in advance. The VCR Plus+ timer programming system eliminates the need to input channel, date, start and stop time data when setting the timer record function.

EN TROUBLESHOOTING Before requesting service for a problem, use this chart and see if you can repair the trouble yourself.
