ENGLISH Preparing the remote controller Before using the remote controller: • Aim the remote controller directly at the remote sensor on the main unit. Make sure there is no obstacle in between. 2. Place the battery. Slide the battery into the holder with the + side facing upwards so that the battery is fixed in the holder. Lithium coin battery (product number: CR2025) 3. Return the battery holder. Insert again the battery holder pushing it until you hear a clicking sound.

ENGLISH RADIO BASIC OPERATIONS Listening to the radio You can use either automatic searching or manual searching to tune into a particular station. Searching a station automatically: Auto search 1 Select the band (FM1 – 3, AM). 1 Press SOURCE repeatedly to select the tuner as the source. 2 If necessary, press BAND (B) repeatedly to select FM or AM.
Press and hold ¢ or 4 until “M” (manual) starts flashing on the display. Storing stations in memory ENGLISH 2 You can use one of the following two methods to store broadcasting stations in memory. • Automatic preset of FM stations: SSM (Strongstation Sequential Memory) • Manual preset of both FM and AM stations FM station automatic preset: SSM You can preset 6 local FM stations in each FM band (FM1, FM2 and FM3). 3 Tune into a station you want while “M” is flashing.
Tuning into a preset station ENGLISH Manual preset You can preset up to 6 stations in each band (FM1, FM2, FM3 and AM) manually. Ex.: Storing an FM station of 88.3 MHz into the preset number 1 of the FM1 band You can easily tune into a preset station. Remember that you must store stations first. ENGLISH CD OPERATIONS Playing a CD 1 Open the loading slot. The control panel moves down, and the loading slot appears. Note: When an external component is connected to the MP3 INPUT jack, Be careful of handling a CD. 2 Insert a disc into the loading slot. The unit draws a CD, the control panel goes back to the previous position (see page 22), and CD play starts automatically.
ENGLISH To go to the next track or the previous tracks Playing a CD Text Press ¢ briefly, while playing a CD, to go ahead to the beginning of the next track. Each time you press the button consecutively, the beginning of the next track is located and played back. In a CD Text, some information about the disc (its disc title, performer and track title) is recorded. You can show these disc information on the display. 1 Select text display mode while playing a CD Text.
To play back only intros (Intro scan) To play back tracks at random (Random Play) 1 Press MODE (M) to enter the functions mode while playing a CD. This unit enters the functions mode. 2 Press RND (random) while still in the functions mode, so that the RND indicator lights up on the display. Then, each time you press the button, CD random play mode turns on and off alternately. 4 1 Press MODE (M) to enter the functions mode while playing a CD. This unit enters the functions mode.
ENGLISH SOUND ADJUSTMENTS Adjusting the sound Reinforcing the bass sound You can adjust the sound characteristics to your preference. The richness and fullness of the bass sound is clearly maintained regardless of how low you set the volume – Super Bass. • You can also adjust the level of Super Bass. 1 Select the item you want to adjust. To turn on/off the power amplifier switch You can set the clock to be shown on the display when the unit is turned on. When shipped from the factory, the clock is set to be shown on the display. • CLOCK ON: Clock display is turned on. • CLOCK OFF: Clock display is turned off. – P. AMP SW. (For KD-SH77 only) To select the level meter – LEVEL/EQ You can select the level display according to your preference. When shipped from the factory, this mode is set to “LEVEL+EQ.
ENGLISH To change the AM/FM channel intervals To adjust the auxiliary input level – AREA – AUX ADJ When this unit is shipped from the factory, the channel intervals are set to 10 kHz for AM and 200 kHz for FM (AREA US settings). You will have to change the channel intervals when using this unit in an area other than North America and South America. • AREA EU: Select this when using this unit in an area other than North and South America.
You can assign names to station frequencies, CDs and the external components. After assigning a name, it will appear on the display when you select the source. Select the character set you want while “ ” is flashing.
ENGLISH Changing the control panel angle You can change the angle of the control panel in three positions. CAUTION: NEVER insert your finger between the control panel and the unit, as it may get caught and hurt. Adjust the angle to the position you want. Each time you press the button, the panel angle changes as follows: A B D C When using the remote control Press ANGLE ∞ repeatedly. Each time you press the button, the control panel changes its angle — Å, ı, Ç, then Î positions in sequence.
You can detach the control panel when leaving the car. When detaching or attaching the control panel, be careful not to damage the connectors on the back of the control panel and on the panel holder. You can connect two external components to this unit. Connect one to the MP3 INPUT jack on the control panel, and the other to the LINE IN plugs on the rear.
1 : Turns on and off the power. 3: Starts playback. ¡: • Fast-forward the track when pressed and held. • Skip to the beginning of the next tracks when pressed briefly. 1: • Reverses the track when pressed and held. • Go back to the beginning of the current track when pressed briefly. Go back to the beginning of the previous tracks when pressed consecutively. 7: Stops playback. Select the external component (AUX INPUT or LINE INPUT). When you select a source, the power automatically comes on.
ENGLISH CD CHANGER OPERATIONS We recommend that you use one of the CH-X series with your unit. If you have another CD automatic changer, consult your JVC car audio dealer for connections. • For example, if your CD automatic changer is one of the KD-MK series, you need a cord (KS-U15K) for connecting it to this unit. Before operating your CD automatic changer: • Refer also to the Instructions supplied with your CD changer.
To play back tracks repeatedly (Repeat Play) 1 Press MODE (M) while playing a CD. This unit enters the functions mode. 2 Press RPT (repeat) while still in the functions mode, so that the RPT indicator lights up on the display. Then, each time you press RPT, the repeat play mode changes as follows: Press the number button corresponding to the disc number to start its playback (while the CD changer is playing). • To select a disc number from 1 – 6: Press 1 (7) – 6 (12) briefly.

Handling CDs This unit has been designed to reproduce the CDs bearing the following marks. COMPACT DIGITAL AUDIO You can also play back your original CD-Rs (Recordable) and CD-RWs (Rewritable) on this receiver. This unit is not compatible with MP3. How to handle CDs Center holder When removing a CD from its case, press down the center holder of the case and lift the CD out, holding it by the edges. • Always hold the CD by the edges. Do not touch its recording surface.
ENGLISH TROUBLESHOOTING What appears to be trouble is not always serious. Check the following points before calling a service center. Symptoms Causes Remedies • CD cannot be played back. CD is inserted upside down. Insert the CD correctly. • CD sound is sometimes interrupted. You are driving on rough roads. Stop CD play while driving on rough roads. CD is scratched. Change the CD. Connections are incorrect. Check the cords and connections. The volume level is set to the minimum level.

Para reproducir sólo las introducciones musicales (Intro-Scan) Para reproducir las pistas de forma aleatoria (Reproducción aleatoria) 1 Pulse MODE (M) mientras se está reproduciendo un CD, para acceder al modo de funciones. Esta unidad entra en el modo de funciones. 2 Pulse RND (aleatoria) mientras se encuentra en el modo de funciones para que el indicador RND se encienda en la indicación. Luego, cada vez que pulsa el botón, el modo de reproducción aleatoria de CD se activa y desactiva alternativamente.

La unidad se expide de fábrica con “LEVEL+EQ” seleccionado. • EQ ONLY: Se visualiza el patrón del ecualizador.
ESPAÑOL Cambio de los intervalos entre canales AM/FM – AREA Para ajustar el nivel de entrada auxiliar – AUX ADJ Esta unidad se expide de fábrica con los intervalos entre canales ajustados a 10 kHz para AM y a 200 kHz para FM (ajustes para AREA US). Deberá cambiar los intervalos entre canales cuando utilice esta unidad en un área que no sea Norteamérica o Sudamérica. Cuando el componente exterior esté conectado a la toma MP3 INPUT, ajuste correctamente el nivel de entrada auxiliar.
3 Cada vez que usted pulsa el botón, el juego de caracters cambia de la manera siguiente: Usted puede asignar nombres a las frecuencias de emisoras, CDs y a los componentes externos. Una vez que se asigne un nombre, aparecerá en la indicación cuando lo seleccione.
Cambio del ángulo del panel de control ESPAÑOL Podrá cambiar el ángulo del panel de control a tres posiciones. Ajuste el ángulo a la posición deseada. PRECAUCION: No inserte NUNCA el dedo entre el panel de control y la unidad, pues podría quedar aprisionado y lastimarse. Podrá desmontar el panel de control cuando salga de su automóvil. Al desmontar o instalar el panel de control, preste atención para no dañar los conectores provistos al dorso del panel de control y en el portapanel. ESPAÑOL OPERACION DEL CAMBIADOR DE CD Recomendamos emplear uno de la serie CH-X con su unidad. Si tiene otro cambiador automático de CD, consulte con su concesionario de JVC de equipos de audio para automóviles. • Por ejemplo, si su cambiador automático de CD es uno de la serie KD-MK, necesitará un cable (KSU15K) para conectarlo a esta unidad. Antes de operar su cambiador automático de CD: • Refiérase también a las instrucciones suministradas con su cambiador de CD.
Para reproducir las pistas repetidamente (Reproducción repetida) Pulse el botón del número correspondiente al número de disco deseado para iniciar su reproducción (mientras el cambiador de CD está reproduciendo el CD). 1 Pulse MODE (M) mientras se está reproduciendo un CD. La unidad entra en el modo de funciones. 2 Pulse RPT (repetición) mientras se encuentra en el modo de funciones para que el indicador RPT se encienda en la indicación.
INFORMACION ADICIONAL Modos de sonido (ajustes de valores preestablecidos) ESPAÑOL En la lista de abajo se muestran los ajustes de valores preestablecidos para cada modo de sonido. Incluso después de haber cambiado los ajustes, podrá reposicionarlos a los ajustes de fábrica asignando otra vez los valores preestablecidos de abajo. FONCTIONNEMENT DE BASE DE LA RADIO FRANÇAIS Ecoute de la radio Vous pouvez utiliser la recherche automatique ou l’accord manuel pour accorder une station particulière. Recherche d’une station automatiquement: Recherche automatique 1 Choisissez la bande (FM1 – 3, AM). 1 Appuyez répétitivement sur SOURCE pour choisir le tuner. 2 Si nécessaire, appuyez sur répétivement sur BAND (B) pour choisir FM ou AM.
2 Maintenez pressée ¢ ou 4 jusqu’à ce que “M” (manuel) clignote sur l’affichage. Mémorisation des stations Vous pouvez utiliser l’une des deux méthodes suivantes pour mémoriser les stations reçues. • Présélection automatique des stations FM: SSM (Strong-station Sequential Memory) • Présélection manuelle des stations FM et AM Présélection automatique des stations FM: SSM Accordez une station souhaitée pendant que “M” clignote. Présélection manuelle Vous pouvez présélectionner manuellement un maximum de 6 stations pour chaque bande (FM1, FM2, FM3 et AM). Ex.: Mémorisation de la station FM située à 88,3 MHz sur le numéro de présélection 1 de la bande FM1 1 Choisissez le numéro de la bande (FM 1 – 3, AM) où vous souhaitez mémoriser la station (dans cet exemple, FM1). FRANÇAIS 1 Appuyez répétitivement sur SOURCE pour choisir le tuner. 2 Si nécessaire, appuyez sur répétivement sur BAND (B) pour choisir FM ou AM.
Lecture d’un CD 1 Ouvrez la fente d’insertion. Le panneau de commande descend et la fente d’insertion apparaît. Remarque: Quand un appareil extérieur est connecté à la prise MP3 INPUT, faites attention lors de la manipulation des CD. 2 Insérez un disque dans la fente d’insertion. L’appareil tire le CD, le panneau de commande retourne dans sa position précédente (voir la page 22) et la lecture du CD commence automatiquement.
Lecture d’un CD Text Pour aller aux plages suivantes ou précédentes Dans un CD Text, certaines informations à propos du disque (son titre, l’interprète et le titre de la plage) sont enregistrées. Vous pouvez afficher certaines de ces informations sur l’affichage. FRANÇAIS 1 Appuyez brièvement sur ¢ pendant la lecture d’un CD pour avancer au début de la plage suivante. Chaque fois que vous appuyez répétitivement sur la touche, le début de la plage suivante est localisé et reproduit.
Pour reproduire uniquement les introductions (Balayage des introductions) Pour reproduire les plages dans un ordre aléatoire (Lecture aléatoire) 1 Appuyez sur MODE (M) pour entrer en mode de fonctions lors de la lecture d’un CD. L’appareil entre en mode de fonctions. 2 Appuyez sur RND (aléatoire), pendant le mode de fonctions, de façon que l’indicateur RND s’allume sur l’affichage. Chaque fois que vous appuyez sur la touche, le mode de lecture aléatoire de CD se met alternativement en et hors service.

FRANÇAIS Modification de l’intervalle entre les canaux AM/FM – AREA Pour ajuster le niveau de l’entrée auxiliaire – AUX ADJ À l’expédition de l’usine, l’intervalle entre les canaux est réglé sur 10 kHz pour la bande AM et sur 200 kHz pour la bande FM (réglage AREA US). Vous devrez changer l’intervalle entre les canaux si vous utilisez cet appareil ailleurs qu’en Amérique du Nord ou du Sud.
Attribution de noms aux sources 3 Vous pouvez attribuer des noms aux fréquences de station, aux CD et aux appareils extérierus. Après avoir attribué un nom, il apparaît sur l’affichage quand vous choisisez une source.
Modification de l’angle du panneau de commande Vous pouvez modifier l’angle du panneau de commande parmi trois positions. Ajustez l’angle sur la position souhaitée. FRANÇAIS Chaque fois que vous appuyez sur la touche, l’angle du panneau change comme suit: ATTENTION: N’INSÉREZ JAMAIS vos doigts entre le panneau de commande et l’appareil car il pourrait être pris dans l’appareil et vous pourriez vous blesser. Fixation du panneau de commande 1 Vous pouvez détacher le panneau de commande quand vous quittez la voiture. Lors du détachement ou de la remise en place du panneau de commande, faites attention de ne pas endommager les connecteurs situés à l’arrière du panneau et sur le porte-panneau. Insérez le côté gauche du panneau de commande dans la rainure située du côté droit du porte- panneau.

Si vous possédez un autre changeur automatique de CD, consultez votre revendeur autoradio JVC pour les connexions. • Par exemple, si votre changeur automatique de CD appartient à la série KD-MK, vous avez besoin d’un câble (KS-U15K) pour le connecter à l’appareil.
Appuyez sur la touche numérique correspondante au numéro de disque souhaité pour commencer sa reproduction (alors que le changeur de CD est en lecture). Pour reproduire les plages répétitivement (Lecture répétée) 1 Appuyez sur MODE (M) pour entrer en mode de fonctions lors de la lecture d’un CD. L’appareil entre en mode de fonctions. 2 Appuyez sur RPT (répétée), pendant le mode de fonctions, de façon que l’indicateur RPT s’allume sur l’affichage.
