You can select it from the menu on the TV screen (see page 34), or from the remote control (see page 35). To locate the desired scene from the menu DVD discs generally have their own menus which show the disc contents. These menus contain various items such as titles of a movie, names of songs, or artist informations, and displayed on the TV screen.

For example, by setting the Parental level strictly, when a movie which includes violent scenes is played back , the scenes are cut or replayed with other scenes in order not to be viewed by children. Video CD Operations Playing a specific scene on a Video CD You can play a specific scene on a Video CD disc by selecting the time, the track number, the opening scene digest display, or the item on the menu displayed on the TV screen. To use the menu of the Video CD recorded on PBC Some Video CD discs are compatible with the PBC function. PBC is an abbreviation of “PlayBack Control.” Video CD disc recorded on PBC have own menus such as the list of the songs of the disc and items recorded in a disc.

Additional information Care and handling of discs How to handle discs When handling a disc, do not touch the surface of the disc. Since discs are made of plastic, they are easily damaged. If a disc gets dirty, dusty, scratched or warped, the images and sound will not be picked up correctly, and such a disc may cause the player to malfunction. Even on label side Do not damage the label side, stick paper to or use any adhesive on its surface. Storage Make sure that discs are kept in their cases.
