Congratulations, you have purchased the finest air filter that money can buy. With proper care, this filter can last many
seasons. This filter can be used in a stock machine, with no modifications required. If any engine modifications have been
made tuning/jetting adjustments may be required. There are special installation instructions, so please follow the
procedures outlined below to ensure the K&N
®
air filter seals properly.
Seam on Tube
Mark on Filter
1. Remove the stock filter from air box. OE hose clamp will be used with K&N
®
air filter.
2. Clean any dirt or debris inside of the air box.
3. Insert the K&N
®
air filter onto the supplied intake tube.
NOTE: There is a point marked on the filter that will line up with the outside seam on the intake tube. (Fig.1)
4. Install hose clamp onto filter, but DO NOT tighten at this point in time.
5. Install K&N
®
air filter/intake assembly into the stock air box. Note the approximate alignment in the air box as it may
be necessary to rotate the filter or intake tube for best fitment. (Fig. 2)
6. Install the air box lid. Use caution when installing the air box lid; you may need to rotate the air filter slightly for lid
clearance.
7. Once filter is installed with sufficient clearance, tighten BOTH the hose clamp on the filter and the hose clamp securing
the intake tube to the air box.
