1) Remove stock filter element from the airbox.
2) Using the K&N sealing grease, apply a layer of grease to both top and bottom surfaces of
the K&N Air Filter. Apply sealing grease between the two sealing bumps, bringing the sealing
grease flush to the top of each bump.
3) Install the K&N Air Filter.
4) Pay close attention to the orientation of the filter in the housing. The filter will have “TOP REAR”
molded into the rubber to aid in orienting the filter in the airbox.The housing will deform the
seal slightly after use, so the filter should be installed in the exact same orientation after servicing.

filter can last 1 million miles or more. This filter is a direct replacement for the stock air filter, and no
modifications will be required. However the following procedure MUST be followed to ensure a prop-
er fit and seal of the K&N Air Filter.

THESE INSTRUCTIONS MUST BE FOLLOWED EVERY TIME THE FILTER IS
SERVICED, OTHERWISE THE FILTER MAY NOT SEAL, AND DAMAGE TO THE
ENGINE COULD RESULT.
