THESE INSTRUCTIONS MUST BE FOLLOWED EVERY TIME THE FILTER IS SERVICED,
OTHERWISE THE FILTER MAY NOT SEAL, AND DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE COULD
RESULT.
1) Remove the stock filter according to the owners manual..
2) Install the provided screws and washers onto the K&N Filtercharger
®
before installing air filter. (Fig. 1)
NOTE: Each screw hole in the air filter was designed to be a tight fit. This prevents the screws from “backing out”
and falling into the engine.
3) Install the K&N Filtercharger
®
into the air box.
NOTE: Be sure the tabs of the air filter sit into the brackets that are located on the bottom of the air box. On some
motorcycles it may be necessary to loosen the screws on the brackets to ensure the air filter will fit correctly. (Fig. 2)
4) Start each screw on the K&N Filtercharger
®
a few turns before tightening down. Follow the number sequence. (Fig. 3)
NOTE: It may be necessary to apply some pressure to the tabs of the K&N Filtercharger
®
to ensure the screws
thread into the air box.
5) Tighten all three screws of the K&N Filtercharger
®
. Use caution when tightening as damage may occur to the air
filter and the air box if they are over tightened.
NOTE: If you followed the note from Step 3 make sure these screws are tightened.
