Congratulations, you have purchased the finest air filter that money can buy. With proper care, this filter will last 1 million
miles or more. This filter can be used in a stock machine, with no modifications required. If any engine modifications have
been made tuning/jetting adjustments may be required. There are special installation instructions, so please follow the
procedures outlined below to ensure the K&N
®
air filter seals properly.
1. Remove the stock air filter from air box.
NOTE: Some components from the OE filter will be used on the K&N
®
air filter. (Fig.1)
2. From the OE filter, remove all 4 large diameter cushions, 4 small diameter cushions and 4 steel washers and the
gasket from the back of the filter. These will be placed onto the K&N
®
filter. (Fig.1)
3. Install each of the cushions (large and small), steel washer and gasket into the K&N
®
air filter. Ensure that each
cushion sits correctly into the air filter.
4. Clean any dirt or debris inside of the air box.
5. With the cushions, washers and gasket installed, place the K&N
®
air filter into the air box.
6. Re-install the air box lid.
